In this thread, anyone CrossFitting could post sharing their results.

Not really much to say here, maybe if this thread develops I'll edit this post to say more.

CrossFit Workout of the Day

Brand X Scaled Workouts

Post what workout you did, be it as Rx'd or scaled, and your results.

Wow, 4 rounds. I stand in awe.

"Danny" - Buttercup

2 rounds, 4 pullups short of 3. My arms just flat out failed on me and refused to give me 4 more measly pullups.

Oi, this is the second time I've seen the inverted burpee. Last time it was like ten rounds with regular burpees and pull ups thrown in.

Today's inverted burpees workout. I did the buttercups one - 15 inverted burpees. I did it in 4:24. Yeah, it's pretty clear I'm ready to move up.

But that's not the important part. The important part is, today I did a handstand for the first time! Successfully! For fifteen motherfucking times!

The last time I tried a handstand a few years ago, my arms couldn't support my body and I actually fell right on my head, yeah, just like in the cartoons.

Fucking yeah!

I couldn't kip of course, so I just do that situp/roll thing. No hand touching the floor or that rep doesn't count.

Hell yeah, dude. You'll be doing handstand pushups in no time. Now you might want to try hold a one handstand for as long as possible, and then try a few static positions with your arms bent.

I'm working on getting away from the wall with my handstands, but it is proving difficult slywink

I'm going to have to make up this WOD and Today's (Angie) Monday and Tuesday. My gym is closed for business while everyone is at the qualifiers in Flagstaff. I still have to make up DT, too.

I did "Angie" today in 19:25. 100 pullups, pushups, situps and squats for time. The pullups followed right away by pushups turned my arms into wet noodles. The situps were actually a relief. Anyhow, it was a good workout to start the week off.

Nice time, man. I haven't done Angie since my first month into CrossFit, I don't remember my time but it was bad. I'm gonna try and do it tomorrow(Tuesday). I made up DT today after the Back Squats.

4/20 - Back Squat (3,3,3,3,3) - 225, 235, 245, 265, 265

4/23 - Filthy Fifty as Rx'd - 25:00

The double unders killed me, I can't do them to save my life. At one at a time I spent about four and a half minutes on them.

Wow, there is no way I could even come close to doing that. If I started in the morning I would be lucky to finish before the next WOD. Some day though...

I'll be doing this in about an hour from now. I know for a fact the double unders are going to mess me up. I'll post my time later.

Should be fun. icon_biggrin

I would have said the same thing 8 months ago, when I first started. I think I got around 54 minutes then. There are guys in my gym that will be under 20... Legitimately under.

Hehehe, tear it up, Jimmy. Its rough, but you feel pretty accomplished lying on the ground afterward.

Finished the Filthy 50 in 28:31. Because I can't do double unders if my life depended on it, I substituted 200 singles instead. My legs were actually shaking after I was done with the whole routine.

As validation that doing Crossfit is really making a difference, I had lunch today with a bunch of people who I used to work with and who have not seen me in over a year. They were all completely shocked at how different I look now. Got compliments from everyone that I look really slim and fit. It's stuff like that which keeps me excited and eager to work out every day.

With times like yours, I'm not surprised. You'd have to be looking pretty fit. It is an awesome feeling to have that shock and awe from people you haven't seen in ages. Its doubly great, because you know you muscles are equipped to do REAL work, they aren't just for show.

I'll be taking today and  tomorrow off to rest and recover. My back is really sore from the 50 yesterday. On Sunday, there's a group of crossfitters from my gym planning to do a 4 mile run. I'll probably just do that and give my back some relief.

By the way, it's great to be able to post results here. I never kept a log of any of my times or reps so being able to note them here is helpful.

Yeah, being able to go back an compare your times is very helpful, no fun doing it by yourself though.

4/26
21-15-9 reps for time of:
95# squat snatch
Chest to bar Pullups.

8:51, as Rx'd

Been a while since this has been updated. I've been off from crossfit for the last week and a half due to my getting sick. Last night though, I felt good enough to do. The WOD was simply power cleans for max weight. I think I got up to 165 before I couldn't go any higher. It was a nice simple workout after not doing any for over a week.

As good as that was though, I made a huge breakthrough in another area. So after the WOD, I jumped up on the pull-up bar and was able to do a kipping pull-up for the first time ever! Oh man was I ever excited. It's the one thing I've been wanting to do successfully for almost as long as I've been crossfitting. Up to now, I've been doing jumping pull-ups, but now, no more.

Way to go Jimmy! Once you get one, they start growing FAST. You'll be knocking them out 10-20 at a time before very long.

I've been doing about one WOD a week, sometimes two. I'm pursuing some other ideas, trying to build up my basic strength rather than my muscle endurance(CrossFit)

I did Grace last cycle and got 4:03 I think, as Rx'd. I did a modified Cindy today(subbed 10 one legged squats for the fifteen regular.) I didn't do the Power Cleans, I've had some issues with my back and I'm laying off max effort Oly's. Last time I got to 225lbs, though.

Thanks! I did Cindy yesterday and did 12 rounds in 20 minutes. It was the first time I've done WOD pull-ups with the kipping motion and was harder than I expected. Kipping pull-ups are harder than jumping ones, so I was spent pretty quickly. I guess I have to keep doing them and build up my muscles to get used to them.

Today's WOD is:

30 Glute-ham sit-ups
25 Back extensions

Anyone know what the glute-ham sit-ups are? I've never even heard of those.

That is Rx'd per CrossFit standard. Gives me a headache and sometimes hurts my back; so, I've stopped doing them recently(after the last time "Michael" showed up) and I sub V-Ups on the ground.

Great job on Cindy, by the way. Its much tougher than it appears; the rounds are fast but you accumulate them quickly. I modified it, I did one legged squats and made it to ten rounds.

Ugh, between the sit-ups and the extensions, my back is going to be crying out in mortal agony. I have a feeling there will be alternate exercises. My gym does not have nearly enough of those metal frame stations for everyone in the class.

Well sure enough, we didn't do the WOD as Rx'd since we don't have enough back extension stations. Instead we did a custom WOD that included:

400m farmer's walk with 45 pound barbells

Then 5 rounds for time of:
15 knee to elbow pull-ups
20 sit-ups
15 wall balls

Oh my god, my arms felt like the puny useless arms of a T-Rex afterwards. My time was just over 20 minutes.
