I'm kind of glad.  The angle of "If I did it..." doesn't sit well with me and I'm glad they're pulling it.

Oh and by the way, not that this is a surprise, his willingness to do this just solidifies in my mind that he's guilty.

No one not involved with it would entertain such an idea...

It was certainly a stupid idea all the way around(book, interview, tv show) and I just hope Fox doesn't think it's going to get any brownie points for cancelling it.

When he starts with "First I'd get some gloves that don't fit...." I'd suspect something was up...

Does it actually start like that???!?

And also, I thought just the tv deal was cancelled, not the book?

Like Murdock?  Too bad he owns the company.. I hear O'Really was going to "Walk" from Fox if they didn't back out..

Nope, read the article and it says the book was cancelled also.  It was "was due to be published by ReganBooks, an imprint of News Corp's HarperCollins publishing division", and News Corp is the partent company of Fox.

I'm glad to hear that the public response has actually helped to stop this crap.

I was thrilled when I heard this news.  I'm sure the email I sent to my local affiliate didn't make a difference, but very happy that the country won't be subjected to his 'confession'.

Fox still suffers a black eye for it even getting as far as it did (though this won't affect how much I watch them, which is only the NFL and an occasional Family Guy at this point).

Fox understands, perhaps better than any other media outlet in human history, that nobody who watches their network will remember this next week.

They were discussing the issue on NPR, and it sounds like the deal was scrapped because they considered it would lose a lot of money, rather than any consideration of morality.

I only hope this hasn't tainted Fox's carefully cultivated excellent reputation.

I don't know if anyone listens to Harry Shearer's "Le Show", but he had a funny skit about Rupert Murdoch making a book called "If I Wanted To Conquer the World", where he hypothetically discussed how he would push a radical agenda with his news shows while using the proceeds to court politicians from every side into allowing him to buy any media outlet he wanted.  Pretty funny stuff.  Hypothetically speaking, of course.

He also had OJ reading Murdoch's hypothetical treatise... and OJ strangely sounded a lot like Dr. Hibbert for some reason.

In other news, Simpson will be changing his name to "Captain Obvious".

C'mon guys, OJ needs the money!  Can you blame the guy?  I'd do it if I were him.

Maybe if he all of the money were going straight to pay off the judgement from his civil trial, but you know he wouldn't.  Plus he would still owe $30 million after that anyways.

Stolen copies of the book were on eBay for up to $1 million before they were cancelled.  I could see that being a legitimate bid, too.
