From the above article...

Quote
Cole cited recent FCC actions and last week's re-election of President Bush as reasons for replacing "Saving Private Ryan" on Thursday with a music program and the TV movie "Return to Mayberry."

ROFL! Priceless.

They've already played it a few times on TV, so I don't get what the big deal is.  I wonder if there is something other than the FCC that is making them feel this way.

The best part of that was then asked if they would come down on the networks for airing SPR, the FCC said (paraphrasing): "We can't say before it airs because that would be censorship."

Ever since the firestorm that surrounded Janet Jackson and the Unveiling, media companies are erring on the side of caution. My favorite radio station used to play Warren Zevon's "Lawyers Guns and Money" (complete with the "shit has hit the fan" verse) regularly until January. I've never heard play it since.

Just a few ignorant stations are pulling the movie.  The vast majority will be showing it.

LOL!  I love it.

This is the "moral values" kind of thing people want.  They voted for it and now they get it.

Yep. You voted for it, now you've got it, in some form or another.
Perhaps someone should really think about reforming the absolute corruption of the FCC and its chairman.

Nope.  When they say uncut, they mean it, F-bombs and otherwise.

The FCC can't tell them what they can or can't air; that would be censorship.  They can only impose such hefty fines that it's not economically viable to air much of anything.
