Anyone for the Finals as long as it's not Vancouver.
Someone still hasn't gotten over that Canucks/Sharks series I see. Just caught the highlights of the Boston-Toronto game. Man, what a shellacking. It was horrific. Terrible end to the Leafs season.

Canucks/Kings tonight, should be a great game.
Turns out no (thus far anyway), which was really disappointing. This was one of the more unwatchable games of the season, which is a bummer since the Kings/Bruins and Kings/Blues the last few games were really damn fun to watch. Kings/Canucks games have been historically great too. In that this is my last hockey game to watch for a couple of weeks and my high expectations, this sucked. I'm going to blame the officiating for this one since it was really damn atrocious with horrific calls from either side. I didn't end up watching it, but I saw the hilights this morning. Looked like a snoozer but man, that poke check by Quick was unreal to stop the 3 on 1. Canucks seem to be having fun making it tough for those fighting for 8th. Nice to see Manny score. And my god Doughty was bad.

Caps didn't show tonight. Biggest game of the year, and they absolutely and completely failed the gut-check.

I'm trying to figure out if the Canucks will play up to their potential tonight and keep in the race for 1st, or choke and let the Avs screw the chances of a post season for the Kings or Flames. Whoah - its looking like the Leafs might actually finish beneath the Canadiens. I'm starting to take bets on whether Burkie gets a chance to trade their 1st rounder away in another dubious trade or whether he gets the boot. I'm betting its the latter.

Bleh. VRWC out in first round this year no matter who they are playing. Garbage. All the turnovers and leisurely playing did them no favors at all. Terrible.

They may have been bad tonight, but they were in rare form on Monday.
My sister texted me FROM the game (she lives in columbus) to say, 'At Bluejackets v. Red wings game. Have a feeling you would appreciate this more than me...' Sheesh. I'll say. I'm pretty sure she didn't pay for tickets, either.

The Wings know how to turn it on for the second season. They are going to need to work harder than they did tonight for that to happen. If they take a timeout and get the silent treatment from Babcock for the duration of it you know they are playing bad.

Another 1-0 win for the Canucks, talk about a snoozer - the stellar goaltending by Schneider was about the only exciting thing. Bleh, the Canucks are starting to remind me of the Lemaire Devils.
I'm going to say that at 2 points out of 8th and only 3 games remaining, Avs are done.

The offense may be shit, but the netminders sure are gettin' it done.
Nucks are making it tough for those teams trying to make the playoffs.

Yeah sure, but as soon a Luongo has a crappy game -which you just know is going to happen- they'll lose big time on account of them now being able to score. I don't mind 1 goal only games, but there's a difference between a good 1 goal game and a bad one. IMO the Canucks are playing bad 1 goal games right now.

I'm forced into the unenviable situation of rooting for the Bruins this evening, hoping they keep the Caps down prior to Fridays Sabres-Penguins game.

Lol...no need to worry, I still cheer for them more than any other NHL team. That said, despite the Canucks run to the final last year I'm still a Vancouver Giants fan 1st and foremost. They had a terrible season by their standards finishing 8th overall in the WHL and 2nd in their division, but hey they're in the postseason again for the 8th year in a row. Just ignore my cynism around the Canucks - I get too much the "Canucks are so damn uber" each and every day from friends and co-workers that it wears on me after a while.

Sadly the Bruins couldn't help you. It was pretty hilarious to see Washington blow a 2-0 lead with 3 minutes to go, though. The Caps are not a good team. I think most playoff teams are rooting for them over Buffalo at this point.

Bleah. And looking at the tiebreakers, if Caps and Sabres are tied at the end, it's going to Regulation and overtime wins, which Washington has a 5 game lead in at the moment.

I'm pretty sure I still haven't exhaled. Some sick goals in that shootout though, huh?
...stupid Caps, bringing back hope. I'm not sure if it's worse that they're lingering in it at this point, or that they're forcing me to cheer for the Penguins tomorrow. Painful.

Oh I most definitely think it's a conspiracy. I probably should have mentioned that the trip line is highly rumored to have been made out of organically grown hemp fiber that was manufactured using a low carbon-emission process.

Sounds like Backstrom is back in tonight after 40 games out. Yeah, I think getting back one of the top passers in the league and returning other guys to more tenable positions is going to help a bit. Buffalo's loss to Pittsburgh last night puts the Caps back in control of their own destiny, and within reach of the 7th, 8th, or potentially 3rd spot (4 points back on Florida with one head-to-head matchup left).
Of course, Buffalo has two games left against the Leafs, so that's four points the Caps have to get right there just to keep up.

I was gonna comment but didn't, but with the trouncing the Leafs got form that Philly game I wouldn't be surprised if they had a bit of a bounce back. Looks like they did and the Sabres are the worst for it.

I think the Flames have decent talent, and I also think they need to fire ol'fishface behind the bench. They played a heckuva good game against the Canucks the other night and easily could have won. Iggy is still one of my top 3 favorite players and good god the man deserves so much better.
