...and Jakub Voracek!

“It was a clean hit from my side, it was my bad and I think those hits should stay in the game”. Flyers winger Jakub Voracek on the Kronwall hit.

Massive respect to Voracek for recognizing that he was blown up on a legit check.

Yeeikes, gells.

What's going on over there? Your boy out as GM in a few months? Can't really blow it up with the money it took to become Philly West, can you? Penner and Stoll will clear about 8M off the books if you want that.

They're playing pretty well now but trying to dig out of a hole they dug by playing like shit for the entirety of the middle of the season. I don't actually think they'd get rid of DL but it's a massive disappointment if they miss the playoffs obviously.

I just threw in the post about the cap space for next year.

Seems like there is enough talent, but something's gotta give if they are home before the dance starts.

Could just be having their year like the one I went through last season and bounce right back.

All valid points. There's money to add more in the offseason, but shit they should be a top 4 team even given the current roster.

Of course douchy Wings players will never admit they lowered their head reaching for a puck immediately prior to being hit.

Again, the fact that you can't tell the difference between the hits you're whining about here is unsurprising and sad.

Except, of course, when they do exactly that: http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=510379

Zetterberg said it was his fault after that game. "You should be able to take a hit like that."

Canucks managed to close it to a point with a good win over the Jets last night. The end to this season is shaping up to be a cliff hanger - with the Blues, Canucks, Wings and Rangers all in the mix there finally won't be a run away winner of the P Cup. Bruins, Pens and Preds are still very much in the race too.  smile thumbsup

Yeah... really there's been a lot of good hockey going on this year.  Not, it would seem, in the first 7 minutes of this Wings/Kings game. Yawn.

Crosby isn't even back yet and I'm already sick of the media with the Pens.

I'm 2 steps away from going "theohall" in here with the love affair that the league has with some teams.

I'm proposing cutting it back to the original 6, Vancouver, Philly and Pittsburgh. Everyone else should be considered "the field" and all be lumped in together and not mentioned by name.

I pray for a Nashville v. Florida finals! Fuck 'em!

Thanks for your support!

1)  Yes.
2)  Vast Red Wing Conspiracy.
3)  For 'selling out', Detroit's stadium is consistently pretty empty and quiet.
4)  Two knob saves by Howard on Richards in the last what, 2 minutes?  Pretty amazing.

Since some GT'ers here like to occassionally lump all Canuck fans in with the asshatish punks that caused last June's riot, I thought I post an example of a true Canuck's fan  Tongue  If you watch it through to the end, you'll get an idea of why local boy Dan Hamhuis has become so endeared with the fans here. It's an NHL.COM video, so I'm afraid you'll have to 1st watch an ad.

Canucks are continuing their latest hobby - it involves losing to the worst teams in the league. Henrik Sedin is now on his longest point drought since 2003 and Daniel isn't far behind. Man, but I'm tempted to bring back my "how do you spell underachievment in Swedish" signature.

I'd have to check to be a 100%, but I'm farely certain its 1 point between them in the last 8 games.

Meh, the Canucks still have 4 Swedes. They were down on their quota so they added Pahlsson at the trade deadline. And despite Salo being a Fin, he's seems happy to masquerade as a Swede.  icon_twisted All of the Canucks offensemen are down on scoring though, so their recent lackluster play is really a team conspiracy.  Roll Eyes

I want a Rinaldo beaten to a pulp.

Now on to a better subject...

Can I start the "Kovy for MVP" talk now? I understand he doesn't play for any of the Prime Nine, so he doesn't have a chance, but holy crap has he played great this season and getting better as time goes on. Makes the irrational league punishment worth it.

Kovy for Hart
Henrique for Calder
Zero chance for either.
