BTW great win by the Moose tonight...I think the Canucks could use some of Tremblay's play in this game.

Too bad for Canucks fans.  I was hoping this would go to Game 7 since I'm sure the Wings/Sharks series will and thus leave the winner more tired when (hopefully) facing the Wings.  Oh well.  I was actually hoping the Canucks would win, since I think they'd be easier to beat, but Anaheim shouldn't be too bad either.  It won't be hard to keep their scoring down.

I'm not so sure about the hit on Hansen being a penalty, but for sure Luongo was pushed into the net on the 1st goal by the Ducks. Just amazing that the goal was allowed.

Too bad for Canucks fans.

Well all isn't so woeful in Vancouver these days....most NHL fans probably don't know this, but Vancouver's WHL franchise -The Giants- have made it to the Calder Cup (WHL final) for the 2nd year in a row. And in keeping with the scoring pace set by the Canucks they won their 1st game of the series with a very Canuck-ish score: 1-0!  icon_lol
GO GIANTS GO!!!

Now back to NHL talk. With the Canucks eliminated I feel I need to give my notice for my transfer of allegiance. With the Senators the only Canadian team still in the playoffs, I hereby transfer all enthusiasm, cheers, high-5's and support behind them.
GO SENATORS GO!!!

Without a doubt the 2nd period of this Sens - Devils game is the best period I'm seen in the playoffs yet. GO SENS GO!!!

Great work by Gomez to get his team back in it.
And Go Go Gomez is free agent next year...Gee Lou can we interest you in a swap for a Canuck player?

I doubt it'll be Lou that you'll be asking.

Gomez is a fierce player, it would be awesome to have him with the Canucks.  Breath some more life into 'em.

Can anyone read lips?  I would love to know what Brodeur said to Emery during the handshake.

Absolutely awesome that he said that. I'm impressed with what I've seen of Emery so far. I'm also very impressed with the overall defensive capability of the Sens team.

They are a pretty good team... but I don't like their chances against the Sabres - they seem to be the best looking team out there (and I admit that grudgingly, but Detroit seems a little out of it).

I think Detroit is hosed next round... losing Schneider is a huge loss for them, particularly if Lebda is still out of it.  You can't beat the Quacks down 2 d-men.

God I hate the Ducks.

I'll jump back in to wrap things up a bit from the Devils side with some random points:

1) Marty had a rough playoffs - 3 rings and a million wins into his career and I'll give him a pass - Maybe next year he shouldn't play every game?

2) The Devils line matching strategy has gone too far - I love Madden and Pando but they can't be playing that much when they aren't really inpacting the game at all - The other teams scorers were still scoring and they were no offensive threat like in the past. No need to play them that much, Lou. Like someone on a Devils board said, they should have been called "The Sitcom Line" because they were on for 22 minutes a night. WAY too much!

3) Lou should be back next year with HOPEFULLY Burns behind the bench again.

4) Goodbye Gomez (and hopefully Rafalski too!) - I like Gomez but he was REAL touchy in the sense that he would either be on or off to the point of dominating a game or invisible. He got a littel too fancy for his own good at times and it drove me nuts. A great player but will probably demand more than I want to see the Devils pay. Rafalski just stunk in the playoffs.

5) Someone please give Ray Emery some credit? There were 5, one goal games (not counting the empty netter). Every save was important and he made all of them but an OT breakaway.

6) Some help is needed - With the likes of Dano, Stevens, and Neids gone, there is going to be a call out for some defensive help and I, for one, would finally like to see some offense added in, like when they led the league in scoring in '00. Greene on D and Parise on O have been great this year but a few big names could be added because I believe they may actually have some cap room next year.

Sticking with the Sabres over the Ducks in The Cup so I can see Jiggy cry again!  crybaby

Just turned the Sens - Sabres game on. I'm surprised to see that it's 2-1 for the Sens and it's still in the 1st period.

Awesome.  The Sens looked good, though at times they seemed kind of non chalant about puck possession and gave it up easily.  Still, way to steal home ice away again!  Wooo!

I just watched the Buffalo/Ottawa brawl again on Youtube.  I think I might watch it before every game now. nod
