How about this week we add power rankings to the mix. Let's all do our top 5..

1. NYG- I still believe they're better than the Titans
2. TEN- By virtue of their record alone. I'm not convinced
3. BUF- Not sure if they can go deep in the playoffs, but they are furreal- HUGE 3 straight division games coming up
4. CAR- Might be too high for them, but I see them beating most clubs on a neutral field
5. PIT- I'm not sold on this team at all and I think they're due for a huge crash, but right now...

Is there Hope for the Niners now that Nolan is gone?  No.  The answer is no until the Yorks are far away from football.

Giants - They have the swagger of a champion and the ability to back it up.
Titans - Undefeated and while I dont thin they are the cream of the crop, if they keep winning they themselves will believe it and thats all they need for a 11-5 or 12-4 record and homefield
Buccaneers - Yes, I know, 2 losses, but the team looks better every week.  They should win the division and without suffering the indignities known as a NFC east Schedule should be poised for a home playoff game.
Bills - The next three weeks determine who good they really are - Miami is playing better, The Jets are playing Better and the Patriots are playing better.  Had they had thesegames 3-4 weeks ago, They may have run the table, now they have to work hard to run the table.
Tie - Steelers/Redskins - I Think the steelers have serious QB protection problems that will make life difficult for Big Ben.  I think the Redskins are a much better team than I expected early in the season.  The Steelers get the Giants this week and the Redskins in Week 9.  I'll let you know next week which one wins out smile

I'd hate to be a Steelers fan, all I saw was part of the 4th quarter, but that was one of the most pathetic performances I've seen in a while.  That was Lion/Bengals caliber football.

Cincy fans would know how to find joy in watching football teams lose games, I suppose.  Stick with what you know, they say.

I think that is making a bit much of things.  You missed a great three quarters of football before that implosion.

One touchdown loss after that many turnovers and sacks and penalties isn't all that shameful.  Not having a backup long-snapper was shameful, and the Offensive tackles both ought to be selling peanuts instead of playing football, But the Defense made The Giants earn the 19 hardest points they scored all year. The reigning Super Bowl Champion team.   If you have the NFL network, you may want to watch the game you missed. it was better than the game you saw.

Now we need to teach the tackles and tight ends to pass block somehow, and get our #2 WR Holmes to stop smoking pot while driving about town.  Imbecile.

But Hate being a fan?  For that?  Really? The last touchdown was not scored until there was less than 4 minutes left in the game.

They are still up on their division, and the records don't matter once the playoffs start.  The Offensive Tackles will, but the records won't.  It's likely not our year, but we've surprised folks once this century so far.

A football team that at least gets to the playoffs for 12 of the last 20 years, and 5 of the last seven, is nothing to be ashamed of. A Hockey Team That was in the Cup last year is nothing to be ashamed of.  And believe me, we know when to be ashamed of a sports team. We have the Pirates, after all.

I love watching Cincy lose too, because they usually find some way to suck that's just spectacular. And also becuase I hate most bengals fans. Whenever they play even halfway well people start all that "who dey" garbage, when the clear answer is "anybody that really wants to".

This season has been bliss so far. The '06 season when they were at least ok was fun to watch, but the big Bengals fans around here are unbearable. In fact, here in about another 3 hours the morning shift guys will be here, lamenting the Bengals performance yesterday, and I'll be pointing and laughing.

I'm super proud of my Steelers despite the shameful protection of Ben.  Considering they are the very definition of "The Walking Wounded" - I'll take a close loss like that with my head held high.

And the Dolphins beat the Bills!  HA!  I freakin' LOVED that!

Even as a Giant's fan, I started to feel really bad for Ben at the end. He didn't have ANY protection and he still managed to get some decent passes off.

Well, he'll enjoy a pleasant evening next Monday night, as the Steelers take on the Redskins...who although are ranked 6th in total defense, can't rush the passer at all.

While they can't rush the passer, they can hit.

That smackdown London Fletcher put on Calvin Johnson at the end of the game Sunday was a thing of beauty.

It really was.  I remember when Fletcher signed with the Skins, local sports idiots Steve Czaban and Andy whatever said they couldn't believe the Redskins spent 25 million on a mediocre linebacker.  I nearly had a stroke...dude's never made a probowl (okay), but mediocre?  He's always been incredibly productive.  And now, more than 2 years later, I still laugh about it, since he's been utterly key to our defense.

Exactly how many Bills went to he Pro bowl in the years Fletcher was there? I can't find the numbers anywhere but I'm pretty sure it is none or damn close.

Google and Wikipedia to the rescue!

2003 - Drew Bledsoe, Ruben Brown
2004 - Sam Adams, Takeo Spikes, Terrence McGee
2005 - Sam Adams, Takeo Spikes, Nate Clements, Terrence McGee
2006 - Brian Moorman
2007 - Aaron Schobel, Brian Moorman

That's not "none".  12 guys in 5 years is more than two guys a year, which isn't half bad.

Also, the fact that he got right back up was pretty cool too.
