The wife and I were at the Pittsburgh/Philadelphia game.  That was true Pennsylvania smash-mouth defensive football.  It was the complete opposite of the offensive shoot-out last week against Dallas.  While shoot-outs are entertaining, I'd argue that games like today's are exciting and intense.  And Philadelphia continues to have the best run-defense in the league.    icon_eek

It'll be a nice flight back to Phoenix tomorrow.  And for once I'm actually looking forward to the in-laws visiting next weekend.  The in-laws from Pittsburgh.    icon_twisted

I called it, Petsey-Pie!

Where the hell did the offense go...oh, yeah, it seemed to leave the same time that #36 did...

Just be glad you didn't jinx them.

McNabb was practically ignoring the left side of the field, he wasn't going through his reads, and he was locking onto specific receivers.  Buckhalter looked pretty good, but Pittsburgh's defense is no slouch and we did enough to finish ahead.  I was happy to see Philadelphia's defense dominate the game as they took last week off.

The continued inability of the Dallas defense to complete a sack is driving me crazy. But I am having a much better feeling about the O-line and defense this week.

That's . . . unnecessary.  Four posts to ban must be a new record.   finger

(They deleted a post for those who don't understand what I'm talking about.)
I missed it was he a Raiders or a Panthers fan?

Neither. I also saw some picture posted by said person, and let's just say that it wasn't a picture that belonged on this board.

I actually felt a little sick when I saw one of them. Glad you guys got it cleaned up relatively quickly.

I'm still blown away Cincinnati actually put up a fight against the Giants. Ah well. My predictions for their season are still safe, at least for the moment Tongue

As expected, people calling for Seymour to be cut, Belichick to be fired, Moss to be traded, Cassel to be executed, etc, etc. etc....

Imagine if the Patriots lost FOUR games since 12/11/06!!

From opening of the article in Buffalo News:

Quote
The Buffalo Bills have played 756 games in their 49-year history.

They have come from behind to win on the final play of the game just twice.

No wonder us Bills fans are so cynical smile

The Vikings held on for the win. The defence came up big even though I though Steve Smith would burn them like he did the last time the two teams met.

I knew the Panthers' first two games were a fluke. We went back to typical Carolina football - build a lead then blow it on some boneheaded play. Hey Jake, use some goddamn peripheral vision once in awhile (people wonder why I hate Jake - that sack and fumble just before the half sums up my feelings about him).

At lease Steve Smith looked good. If Jake "Bojangles" Delhomme can hold on to the fucking ball next time we may have a shot at winning another game.

I have no real interest in it other than some FF points, but this Denver-NO game is very entertaining.

As much as I am happy they're 3-0 it would be nice if the Defense would stop blowing 18 point leads and a mistake at the end of the game giving them the final W.

PIT over PHI - philly's offense is hot, but thier defense is not.  Pitt has a good offense and a good defense.  I cant imagine Philly not doing well in this game...

Although I wouldn't be surprised to start hearing chants for Kolb if McNabb loses another game.  I'm not sure why, but it is entirely possible.  McNabb isn't our main problem.  Our defense needs work.  Considine shouldn't even be in the game (that 81-yard bomb to Owens was embarassing) and we need to do a better job of stopping teams on 3rd and long.

McNabb actually received a standing ovation when he came back into the game from injury. Philly fans show the man some love...what a concept.

"Ben had a QB rating of 113.05 (12 of 19 for 186 yards and a TD)."

Isn't that his statline in every game he's ever played? When does he ever throw the ball more than 25 times? Oh wait...he did that Sunday because they abandoned the run game, which didn't make sense to me considering the game was so close and their passing attack was accomplishing nothing....except getting Ben hit...alot. It was so nice to see that.

Props to the Eagles D not only for shutting down the Pitt passing game, but even more impressive to me was not letting Parker find any room to run.

My Picks and how right I was?
ATL over KC - Yeah, I cant say I am shocked.. smile
ARI over WAS - Campbell played better than I expected.  Arizona coulda won, shoulda won, but didnt.
TB over CHI - Griese did start and played a TON.  Took em to overtime and a mornic moveby tillman to win though.
NE over MIA - What I said: "I am torn.  I expect Miami to actually have a good shot of winning this one.  NEw England can only do so much and Miami can only be so inept so long.  But the Defense is too porous not to pick New England."  - Boy o Boy should I have gone with my instincts... damn...
NYG over CIN - Took them longer to win than I expected...
TEN over HOU - No big shocker
CAR over MIN - I said: "Tavaris Jackson does not, in any form, look like a guy who can lead them to the promise land.  If he doesnt start turning it around soon, he's either benched or the head coach isnt making it 8 games."  They benched him and won...
BUF over OAK - bearly
S F over DET I said: "I expect them(Detroit) to give up 30+ so grab O'Sullivan off the waiver wire." - Man I occasionally am good.
N O over DEN - I was either of two missed field goals away from being right on this one.
SEA over STL - StL is now my bitch team... if you lose to them you are kicked out of the league.
BAL over CLE - Not a big shocker
IND over JAX - Why do the Jacks keep messing up my predictions?
PIT over PHI - Proved me wrong.  I expected mroe of a shootout than a defensive battle.
G B over DAL - Damn Dallas, lose already
S D over NYJ - Yay, got one right again.

Right - 9 Wrong - 7
Picks I was wrong on who lost by less then 3: 2
Picks I was right on who won by less than 3: 1

Things to remember for next week:
1) Don't predict on Tuesdays anymore, things change a lot in 5 days, like coaches getting fired, QB's getting benched, etc.
2) Listen to brain less - Common Sense is goof for always picking favorites, but picking upsets requires gut instinct - A La Miami game.
3) Be glad I dont put money down on these things.
