a baby seal walks into a club...

Bets on the Broncos losing to KC at home after beating the Jets on the road? Hopefully Champ Bailey will be back after a 5 week hiatus. Someone needs to stop Tony Gonzales.

If those two teams want to let Peyton Hillis and Larry Johnson run around all day, my fantasy team will be thankful.

I guess you need something to pick on the Giants about being an Eagle fan and all.  After all we are cutting a huge swath through the NFL.  icon_wink

I remember another team doing something similar just last season, only to fall short in the end.  While 17-2 isn't quite the shock as 18-1, for an Eagles fan it'll be even more satisfying.  Last year the Giants hit their stride at the end of the regular season and carried that momentum right into the playoffs.  They may have peaked too early this year, as New England did last year.

Where can I place my order for my "17-2" t-shirt?  It'll mean far more than that "18-1" crap last year.   icon_wink

Picking on the Giants?

I pick on everyone! Patriots and Eagles got it the last two weeks.

Maybe we can get Arlen Specter to investigate this for us. Poor Plex!

Giants won't win the Super Bowl this year either.  Tongue

The freaking Giants are actually playing better than ever, Pete.  Whereas the Pats were noticeably tailing off in offensive production at this point last week.

Oh the donkeys will more than likely lay an egg. They just don't seem capable of stringing two good games together to save their lives. They may still win, but they will struggle against my chefs.

I agree with pr0.

He went WAY out on a limb and picked the current playoff standings with 4 weeks to go.

Nice work - While your at it, why don't you predict last year's playoff teams too!  icon_wink

Well, I could have gone against the grain, but didn't.

Here's why.

New England won't keep it up, since I don't think Matt Cassel is as good as everyone thinks (he's a product of the system).  Miami is Miami.  Buffalo is imploding.  Dallas has an awful schedule the last 4 weeks.  Washington has no offense anymore.  And Chicago and Green Bay are horribly inconsistent.

Besides, a lot can change in a month, and I could look totally foolish.  It's happened before! Tongue

http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/8889258/Judge-blocks-suspensions-of-Vikings'-Williamses

Is this believable to anyone?  Does a judge really have the right to block the suspensions by the NFL of Kevin and Pat Williams?  I mean really, what kind of jurisdiction does a judge have in this matter?

It's time for Green Bay to bounce back, and Houston will be the team they do it against.  They should have won against the Panthers.

Wow. I don't see how that judge has any say at all in this matter. The players association is the group that should be working on the players behalf, not the government. And the Williams say this is a unique case, because not all of the ingredients were listed for the product they took. But that is a bullshit argument. It happens all the time in the NFL. Besides, the NFL publishes a list of what is approved and players are able to take. If someone takes something that is not on that list, they do so at their own risk.

Its a judge in Minnesota. You think he's going to let two Defensive Stars sit out for the next 4 weeks? He's got money on the games.   icon_wink

For once I actually agree with Devil.  It's better for a team when you are not expected to win it all.  I actually find myself wanting the Giants to lose a couple games here in the home stretch (just not to Dallas) to keep their heads grounded.  Believe me I'm a true Giant fan.  What is a true Giant fan?  Well, you are up 35 -3 late in the 3rd and you still don't feel confident it's a win.  You are 11-1 and still expect the roof to cave in at any time.  That's a Giant fan.  We are all like that.  Too much history not to be.  I certainly never expected an 11-1 record at this point.  That came as a complete surprise.  I expected them to be 8-4 or 7-5 at this point.

You need to watch more games. I love the phenomenon of fans that argue every penalty flag against their team and argue for additional penalty flags against the other team. This is especially true on judgment calls like pass interference or holding. Its comical to see people ignore reality.

Any predictions on the Steelers/Cowboys game in the cold city of Pittsburgh this weekend?

Sunday is supposed to be 25 degrees with about a 60% chance of snow.

I can't make a rational pick in a Cowboys/Steelers game right now. I'd love for the Cowboys to win, but I can't say I'm not worried.

New England is getting all NFC east/all the time today, with the Giants/Philly, Cowboys and Skins games.

Actually, if you follow the arguments you'd know that the players are arguing that the NFL knew that Starcaps(sp) had an illegal prescribed substance in it two years ago and never notified the players.

As a Packers fan I'm half dreading/expecting this scenario:

Last game of the season they're against the 0-15 Lions.  Somehow they choke it up and lose in the closing minutes.  Ultimate embarrassment ensues.

If it wasn't $105 to sit in the last row of the stadium I would have been at the Bills game in Toronto right now. But since I don't roll in a bathtub full of cash every night, I'm relegated to watching it from my couch.
