I don't believe it. The Cardinals are FINALLY going to the Super Bowl. Hell - they've never even been to the NFC Championships before!

I never would've said this in the past, but go Cardinals!

This is the worst kind of loss.  Hopeless desolation for a half.  Unquenchable hope and the brink of a win only to lose it in the final moments.

Which is what made it so epically awesome.  I was hoping for a 40-3 Cards win for MAXIMUM MISERY FACTOR (TM) out of this game, but this unexpected turn of events just surpassed my wildest expectations.

Yeah I wouldn't want Reid for anything. He hasn't proven that he's capable of coaching anything but a runner up. Not what I want in a coach.

I'm not sure what bearing that has on the level of support one shows for their team, but whatever.  smile

Cards: 31
Eagles: 24

Rough non-call.

Congrats to the Cards and, please, win one more game.

Easy to see why the Cards won...

Pass:Run
Eagles - 47:18
Cards - 28:29

Eagles needed to run the ball 30 more times to even think of winning.

I have no real allegiance to any of these teams, but I'm pulling for the Steelers. Way, way, way back in the day when I was but a wee lad, my first exposure to professional football was a Steelers beach towel or blanket or something someone gave me. I remember watching them with my dad on the rare occasions he watched football. Through that I tended to follow them off and on growing up. While I've never been a true fan, I always kind of considered them my "default" team to pull for (until the Panthers came along).

Why? They beat the Giants with with a 40:28 ratio and they beat the Vikings with a 34:23 ratio. You go with your team's strength playing against your opponent's weakness. This idea that running and passing should be equal every game regardless is ludicrous. The Eagles lost because they waited until the 3rd Quarter before they started playing well.

They can't run the ball when they were down 24-6.  Games sometimes dictate the ratio.

Yeah, true...5 NFC championship games in a decade is piss poor. Always the runner up...it's never the players' fault?? You can only coach to a point, you can't win the game FOR them for crying out loud. I will say that Reid is apparently very stubborn, and if he would just look at 2004 and what happened when the eagles had a stud receiver....

congrats to the cards and their <true> fans. For all those that jumped on the Cards bandwagon...hey, enjoy the ride, but I've got no love for you.

Bullshit.

I never want to see the Steelers play the Ravens again. This could be the most un-interesting football game I've ever seen. AFC Championship, 2 point game, 5 minutes left, and I'm struggling to keep with it.

Thank God Polamalu just ended it.

Go Cards.

Ravens had 17 yards of offense in the 1st quarter, 110 after 3.

I like defense just as much as the next guy, but that is just awful.

Ravens held the Steelers in check, but at least they moved the ball a bit.

And what the hell should the defense do?   Backpedal to keep the game interesting to one grump on an internet forum?

You guys are great - I thought the game was pretty damn boring.

If I was Dick LeBeau, I would have loved it.

36 yards a quarter isn't all that interesting to me.

Sorry if I offended the football Gods in here again.

No actually I found the game quite boring as well.  Some good hits, but the Ravens offense was not anywhere close to enthralling.

This, coming from a Devils fan... icon_wink

I thought it was a pretty darn hard hitting game. Great football to watch? Not really, but it wasn't a bad game by any stretch. Compare this, to say, the Bengals/Eagles tie game stinkfest....this was far better. smile And, still, have to admire the strength of the Steelers defense. Should be a good Superbowl.
