Edit:  Sorry, we have two Tom Brady Rules, with the 2nd regulating hits below the knee, at least when Tom Brady is tackled.

Fuckin right!! You don't touch Tom unless you are a hot actress or a supermodel!! Otherwise HANDS OFF!!

Maybe there should be an Eagle rule where you get to play the NFC Championship game over and over until you finally win one (and then get beaten by Brady!!)!!

 Tongue

Won't work, as soon as McNabb is gone, the Eagles will fade into obscurity.

Wow, didn't see this trade coming.  I thought for sure Oakland.  PHI is gonna suck next year.

The Philadelphia Eagles have traded Donovan McNabb to the Washington Redskins for a pair of draft picks.

The Eagles will receive a second-round pick (37th overall) in this month's NFL draft and either a third- or fourth-round pick next year.

Clear upgrade from Jason Campbell for the Redskins.

I am shocked the Eagles would trade him within the division.

I hate this move.  You make a move for McNabb if you think you have a chance to win now.

The Redskins don't have a chance to win now...in fact, it was going to be a few years to build this thing.  Instead, they trade a high 2nd, and a 3rd next year, for a guy who turns 34, and is injury prone (and on the last year of his contract).  By the time the Redskins build an o-line...McNabb will be in a retirement home.

Stupid move for the Skins.

The only team in the NFC East I don't hate is the Eagles.  They never won a Super Bowl off the backs of my team.

Ha.  Ha.

Plus, those other NFC East teams managed to win Super Bowls against other teams, too!

Bledsoe to Buffalo didn't hurt, and the Pats got a 1st rounder for that.

Great trade for the Redskins.  I'm guessing the Eagles really wanted to trade him to Buffalo or Oakland. But McNabb made it clear he wouldn't sign an extension so they had to go with Washington.  Skins took advantage.

Apparently McNabb said he's retire if dealt to the Raiders.  LOL!

Quote
According to Yahoo!, the Buffalo Bills were willing to give McNabb a contract extension and he passed on the offer. When the Raiders "sniffed around and showed willingness to trade for the quarterback without an extension, McNabb indicated to the Eagles through his associates that he'd retire."

Scheduled opponents are out.  It looks like the full schedules will be out in just over 4 hours.

Buffalo will be hosting Chicago in Toronto on Nov 7.

Not sure what's more depressing, the Patriots picking up Torry Holt, or the fact that it will improve the team.

I don't understand this. Am I missing something? Have charges actually been filed or is simply being accused a violation of the code now?

The NFL commissioner has the power to suspend players for violations of the league's personal conduct code and that code is worded in such a way that means the player doesn't have to be legally convicted of anything for the commissioner to punish them.  Note that Adam "PacMan" Jones was suspended for a long period of time for a variety of stuff he was never convicted of.  In Roethlisberger's case, the police reports from this latest incident indicated things like Ben buying drinks for underage college students.

Several reports say the Steelers shopped Ben to the teams with the top 10 draft picks and that one of them is interested.  There is a lot of speculation that the Raiders, Bills, or Jaguars could be willing to take him on even with the suspension and baggage.  The rest of his contract is pretty good by current franchise QB standards.

Interesting that Big Ben was suspended for 6 games.  The Steelers have zero nationally televised games in weeks 1-6.  And five from weeks 7-17.
