after thinking about it more and reading more about the deal, it's basically $10 million a year, which is what I thought was what he should get, not $18 million.  And should he meet the goals he could make an extra $10 million a year.  That should motivate him.

I think that's what QBs cost now and I'll take my chance with Kap over just about any of them.

Considering what Cutler and Flacco are making, Kaep's deal isn't all that outrageous in the context of what upper tier QBs make in the NFL. Yeah, it's a lot of money, but I'm okay with it because it wasn't that long ago that the Niners were trotting out the likes of Tim Rattay, JT O'Sullivan, Shaun Hill and shellshocked Alex Smith at QB.

I'm always amazed when people criticize QB contracts. QBs are expensive because you have no other options. You can't let the guy walk.

Wow. That's an excellent contract for the 49ers.

No kidding. Kaep gets a shit ton on money if he keeps getting better each year and the Niners can cut bait at any time if they feel like he is not giving them what they want on the field or if he gets hurt. Baalke should get a trophy for hammering out a deal that seems to satisfy both sides so much.

Ha, a joke to start the season off with.  A loss to the Packers at home?  That idea smells as bad as a cheese-head's hat after 4 quarters.

Go Hawks!

Also, go Cowboys, Vikings and Cardinals Tongue

Not feeling real good about the Niners going into week 1.

Would be nice if the Pack went into Seattle and beat the Seahawks to start the season though!

Jerry can't sell Johnny Football jerseys, so he's gonna sell Michael Sam jerseys until he can sell Adrian Peterson jerseys.

36-16.  Not a great showing by the Packers outside of one drive in the 4th quarter and that early 1st quarter start.

And Richard was such a threat that they didn't throw his way the whole game.

Hey Packers, you do know that Derrick Coleman has hearing difficulties, not vision, right?  Or did you think he would mistake such a wide open field as facing the wrong way?

Wilson is just ridiculous.  If I'm starting  team, I'd take him first pick.  Also how are the seahawks gonna live without Lynch next season (likely salary cap casualty).  It was clear the backup guys can't do what he does it's crazy.  Also Percy Harvin.  If he stays healthy....man.  Sad times to be a Niners fan and watch Seattle dismantle a team so easily.  Hard to remember losing by one play to them up there after Seattle's last two beatdowns of opponents.

Lynch was crazy good last night and Percy...I love that he's proving all of the doubters from last year wrong.  You could hear an undercurrent of "why are we keeping this guy when he hasn't played more than 1 game this year?" until the end.  Now it looks like the best bet we made and also answers the question of why we let Tate go.

I don't think anyone doubts his abilities.  We doubt he will stay healthy.

So we all know this win was from Romo's mistakes.

Niners need to shore up their defense.  Kap looked better than he did in preseason, but he needs to do more to sustain the drives.  More importantly, they need to stop making penalties.  Ahmad Brooks...  However alot of those illegal hands calls against the 49ers were highly questionable.  If the NFL keeps going down this route they are going to lose their popularity over time.

I got to watch both my teams squander large leads and only one survived.  I know Atlanta has some weapons, but the Saints D was #4 in the league last year and they just looked bad yesterday.  I feel bad for Colston as he's usually pretty good with ball handling.

As for the Broncos, Manning looked pretty poor in the second half, but they came away with the win anyway.

Seeing as the NFL has suspended him indefinitely, you might be waiting a while.  At least until the court case is resolved.

The niners have taken over that crown from the raiders.  SF leads the league in arrests since 2012 or so.
