Well we're all on even playing ground now.

What do you think are your teams needs going into 2014

49ers need to look at signing key players (Boldin, Upati, Whitner) to name a few and extend Colin's contract (don't go overboard, he still has a lot to prove)

We also need to upgrade our secondary and our WR

obviously, we need to keep our LOB players, Percy Harvin (amazing return TD!) and work with our WR to improve our passing game.  Primarily, don't let too many players go.

Iupati actually isn't a free agent until 2015.

I'd like to see Boldin and Whitner come back, but I don't see any reason to overpay for either. Rogers is gone unless he significantly restructures his contract, so the secondary is definitely the primary concern.

I don't at all mind a Kaepernick contract extension this offseason. NFL contracts aren't guaranteed and the potential savings outweigh the potential risk of him catching a case of the sucks.

Really looking forward to a hopefully fully healthy Marcus Lattimore in the backfield next season.

Since Iupati is on their rookie contract like Kap I think it's important to extend now rather than wait.

If the 49ers play on a Thursday I hope it's going to be in the 2nd part of the season.  I'm ditching satellite and will only have over the air.

I think you have that backwards unless you don't want to watch the game.

Having CBS produce all the Thursday games should be a big improvement.  The only thing I liked about their broadcast was the creative use of graphics.  I will say that Mayock is great during the draft.  I like him less as a color guy.

My point I was trying to make was I hope the 49ers play when CBS has it smile

Is Mayock the guy who sounds like Sylvester the Cat who can't pronounce his S?  Man that guy made the game hard to watch

Reports from profootballtalk.com are that the niners almost traded Harbaugh to Browns for a bunch of draft picks.  Jed York took to twitter to deny it. Crazy stuff.

I really don't see why they would even entertain this.  49ers would be stupid to let him go, and Harbaugh would be stupid to leave a team that is arguably the top 3 teams in the NFL.

I'm all for incentive based contracts. If he reaches the goals laid in place, pay the man.

This is all about Harbaugh not getting top coach money and wanting to renegotiate his contract.  While I doubt there was any serious talks about him going to Cleveland, I wouldnt be surprised if the Browns, knowing he is unhappy about the money issue approached SF with a few ideas.  Basically a lot of smoke but no real fire.

Well I was first skeptical about all the Harbaugh news.  Profootballtalk is like TMZ, they often make things up just to get readers to visit.  But now there has been confirmation from the Browns and finally Jed York.  I think this will be Harbaugh's last year as the head coach of the 49ers.  Trent Balke and Harbaugh are both alpha males and I guess they can't work together.   Harbaugh knows that if he walks and the 49ers refuse to pay him, he knows he's going to get what he wants elsewhere.  49ers need to get their head out of the sand and quickly remember what we were like 4 years ago.

The 49ers will most likely blink first. There's no salary cap for coaches and the new stadium is a license to print money. Harbaugh knows both of these facts... they'll pay up.

As far as Balke/Harbaugh, no one gives a shit who Balke is.

Exited for the Patriots draft where they will once again trade down and pick up both a TE and a special teams guy from Rutgers to throw in the secondary.

NFL released the 2014 Schedule.

Not too happy with the niners playing seattle twice in three weeks.  At least we have a bye in between

at least we get the big Thanksgiving day game.  that will be awesome.  sure, I'd rather it was a home game, but it will be a great game nonetheless.  I'm not exactly happy with the early bye week for us though.  seems a bit pre-mature

Less than an hour to the start of the draft.  Wonder what the niners will do.  I'm not expecting much since we don't have a lot of cap space.

I really hope the Niners somehow manage to draft David Fales out of San Jose State. I've seen some of his games this past season and the kid looks about as pro-ready as any college QB. Big, mobile, strong arm and accurate. I was at the home game against Navy and while Navy's defense isn't exactly top caliber, Fales was incredible with his athleticism and arm strength.

Good pickup. He's a bit of a health risk but for what they gave up, definitely worth it. He grew up in SF so I am sure he is beyond excited to be playing for his home town team.

49ers extend Kapernick's contract for 6 years $120 million.  $60 million guaranteed.  That's the most in history.

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/49ers-sign-kaepernick-to-six-year-extension-worth-more-than--100m-200334022.html

While I like the guy, I think it's stupid to pay him that much.  He's a great athlete and is exciting to watch when he runs, but he needs to learn to read the field.  Alex Smith had this problem, and he was worse because he didn't have the legs to use to escape like Kap does.

yeah, I saw this today.  Crazy amount of money.  Always a gamble when they bet large on a player.

Hard to believe it's only another 2+ months.  Can't wait for it.
