did he really get it? Looks like he was tackled with his knee hitting the ground before crossing the line.
I don't think so, but it was ruled a first down before they reviewed it. After review it stood. Honestly, the whole sequence for the review and marking distance took about 5-6 minutes to resolve Hometown Review. Replay on NFL.com shows his knee on the ground and the ball just across the 35 yard line - not a full yard further beyond the 34 yard line. Unless the distance between Ray Rice's chest and his waist is 3+ feet.

They really didn't have any HD cameras at the game?

Got that one emailed to me this week. I laughed.
So this week's game is either going to be a complete demolition of the Rams or Kaepernick is going to shit the bed. I don't see anything in between.

Man, and here I was wondering if two teams had ever tied each other twice in the same season. Oh, and sorry Lions fans. It's been a rough stretch. I hope the Texans get some corners back before facing Brady and Luck.

Sure enough. I didn't see the game but his stats - 21/32 for 208 and 84 yards rushing - look decent enough.

His overall play wasn't too bad, but he directly handed the Rams 10 of their points and indirectly gave them a better opportunity for an additional three by making not going out of bounds before the 49ers kicked their last FG.

By the way, I don't mean to take anything away from the Rams. Their D played phenomenal and it was pretty clear that Fisher and his staff outcoached Harbaugh and the 49ers coaches. But those mistakes are what cost them the game, and they were largely unnecessary.

Ya both games the Rams out coached the 49ers. The 1st game they just kept making mistakes, but even with those mistakes they had our number. Today, they made Kap uncomfortable, and took away alot of his plays. Lots of penalties in this game, some questionable (like unnecessary roughness on Kap (helmet to the head)) and many penalties due to lack of discipline for the niners. Looks like the Rivalry has shifted back to the 49ers vs Rams. The last several years it was 49ers vs Arizona.

I just want to know what the f that guy was thinking diving into a clearly sliding Bradford and giving them 15 yards for nothing. Also Cortland Finnegan is a dirty piece of shit.

From what the announcers said (it wasn't shown on the replay) was that Goldston had already committed when he slid. I also don't think it was a safety.

The ball has to reach the line of scrimmage when throwing it away, even when outside of the tackle box, and the ball went out of bounds 3 yards shy of the LOS. Since it was intentional grounding in the end zone = safety. FYI - Bradford has had that grounding call made at least 3 times against him this season, just not from his own end zone.

The line of scrimmage in this case extends past the out of bounds mark. If the ball lands at or past the line of scrimmage even 20 yards out of bounds, it is deemed to be legal. Replays showed the ball landing past the LOS out of bounds. The TV crew explained this during the game. However, it was not reviewable as it was a judgement call. Regardless, what the actual fuck was Kaepernick doing in the end zone when the LOS was the 17 yard line.

Relevant rule in question: http://www.nfl.com/rulebook/intentionalgroundingIntentional grounding will not be called when a passer, while out of the pocket and facing an imminent loss of yardage, throws a pass that lands at or beyond the line of scrimmage, even if no offensive player(s) have a realistic chance to catch the ball (including if the ball lands out of bounds over the sideline or end line).

Bring back Alex Smith
My dad was here watching the game while visiting his new granddaughter, and I was saying Kap is playing the same way as Alex, no difference, than all of a sudden he runs it in for a 50 yard TD.... Well, Alex can't do that.

Penalties weren't as bad as weeks past. Last week was horrible, some legit, and some refs need to let players play. What we should be concerned is the 3rd down conversion, and the conservative play calling we seem to be doing game after game.

Every game I watch seems to have questionable unnecessary roughness calls for any thing resembling a hard hit. Tough to watch a game with so many flags being thrown on each team.

Ya the roughing the passer call against Bowman was incredibly retarded.

Big win for the Cowboys. Unfortunately, the road to the playoffs does not get any easier. Must-wins against New Orleans and Washington. That blown game in Atlanta is really stinging right now.

wow, while it's nice that this happens in niner's favor (finally) I've always hate that rule. Niners are ruled for muffing a punt, patriots recover, but niners held, and that negates the play. I hate that rule. (except this time )

Niners defense went into PREVENT D in the 3rd quarter, allowing Brady to dink and dunk, with some occasional deep passes. Straight out of the Steve Mariucci playbook. Thankfully the went back to the 1st half defense and saved the day.
Don't know what they were thinking that a 28 point game was a big enough lead against Brady.
And Kap.... Learn to take a snap in the rain. Jesus.

Yah, I saw that. So much for all turnovers are reviewed... Of course if Harbaugh challeneged it would have cost us a TO.
