That's fine -I own up to that. Biggest choke in the history of sports.

Listening to NFL Radio today reinforced my hatred. Every other group of fans call up and say things like "If they can do this, or that, they might win".
When Giants fans got on the phone they either told everyone how there was no chance anyone could possibly beat them or they bitched about the refs in a game they won. Typical NY.

Right, because people in Boston aren't assholes, too.

I'm sure people everywhere are assholes.

Some of those Giants fans may have been from Boston (there are a ton of them here). I don't think your required to present a W2 when you call a national radio talk show so I'm not positive.

I'd probably get up and shove him away from me, yes. If I'm sitting there minding my own business, I would. I don't know if this was provoked or not, but that's just shitty behavior on behalf of the team's mascot.

It's silly string. It's a joke. Lighten up, Francis. Maybe I was wrong to limit it to NY and Boston. I can't imagine the mascot doing much of anything short of striking me that would warrant that response.

Well here it is.  While having homefield is nice, it's not guaranteed, and all these niner fans rejoicing that we're playing the Giants hope they don't have to eat their words.

And another video, but not by me (click on the pic below)

Yeah, it's real tough to root for a guy who quietly goes about the business of dragging his team kicking and screaming into the playoffs, a guy who is cool under pressure and wins the game in the fourth quarter again and again. Plus, he's an Ole Miss grad. Hoddy Toddy! go Giants!

I was teased a bit by the Bruins mascot in Boston a couple of years ago (Devil was there; he can vouch for it) and I thought it was great.

Reacting to being teased by the home team's mascot by pushing him to the ground is uncalled for.  That fan was rightfully ejected.  It's just silly string!

I'm all for some good natured heckling, but there's a limit, and obviously that went too far.  Coming in as a fan of the opposing team, you have to expect to be heckled, it's part of the event, but throwing insults like that, being violent has no business in the game.  I guess things have changed since I've been to the games.  Usually it's quite peaceful event unless it's the Raiders or Rams game.  Usually theirs fights during those games as one would imagine, but overall in my experience it was a friendly environment (just not at those games due to rivalry)

But to single out niners as asshole fans is a little broad, this goes on in every stadium.  If you don't believe that, than you're pretty closed minded.

The 49er fans that are going to games now are the younger generation.  Many of the season ticket holders have sold their tickets and have decided to stay home.  The last game I went to I've noticed alot more thugs attending, getting drunk, and causing problems.  When I had my season tickets, back when we went 2-14!!!! there were a lot of the old school fans still attending.  Looking at the crowds now, you don't see that as much.

I can say that my section for all of games this year has been pretty clean.  We actually usually get opposing fans behind us almost every game because those seats are clearly from a ticket broker.  Of course, my section is also one of the more expensive ones in the stadium.

I do recall seeing some fights in the stands during the Cowboys game a few sections over, but that's not surprising.

Of course you're nervous, last week they had no chance of winning and you were just excited about being in the playoffs.  This week they're  one win away from the Super Bowl and playing a team they already beat this year!

The Giants are playing their best ball of the season and are the hottest team right now.  They went into Lambeau and took out the Packers. The offense has been clicking and they have a much better defense than New Orleans.  You have every reason to be nervous.
This should be another excellent game.  There is no way I would bet real money on this one, it could go either way  If I had to though, I would put it on the Giants.  They just seem to be on a mission right now.  Its not a bet Id feel comfortable with though, thats for sure.  I felt stronger about the Giants ability to win against the Packers simply because the Pack had no defense,  the Niners on the other hand have an excellent D.
Im glad Im not a real fan of either team because I think this one is going to be a real nail biter.  I can sit back and enjoy this one instead of screaming at the TV for 3 hours.   Enjoy the game Naednek   icon_twisted
