I recall some pretty ballsy 4th quarter comebacks he lead against both Detroit and Philly, not to mention the, oh, 13 games the Niners won.  Granted, he's not going to knock anyone's socks off, but Alex been really solid this year.

ya the philly game was his first.  Too much alcohol during this game, forgot about that one and I even highlighted in my highlight video.  But with that said, most of their wins were due to the Defense and the special team giving Alex and crew a short field, and had to mainly rely on Akers to do the scoring.

Not trying to be negative, I was just happy to see him take charge.  In the past they couldn't rely on him.  His rushing TD was a statement to all of his detractors, like me biggrin

the rushing TD was a college play that exposed the Saints DL and LBs complete lack of speed.  Heck, that was a 1940s-ish running play.

Why are they doing the punt pass and kick between 3rd and 4th quarter?  And in a tight game. Silly.

well, i was hoping we would be playing GB.  Even though we beat the giants, they were injured on that game.  And the Giants know what to expect this time around.  It's gonna be a tough game next week.

Congratulations to the Ravens. I wonder how the game would have turned out without the Jacoby Jones turnover.

Still proud of the team for overcoming all the injuries this season and making it as far as they did.

I agree.  GB looked quite beatable and the Giants looked pretty damn good.

That being said - ONE MORE TAILGATE?!?!  YES PLEASE.

I learned two things this weekend. 1) it's really hard to repeat in the NFL.  2) I should have put money on the Niners hosting the NFC championship game before the season so I could now retire.

So I couldn't really post my actual thoughts last night in that we went out and celebrated after the game.  From starting tailgating by leaving the rally point at 7:45am to a full night of celebration, I was incredibly exhausted last night.

I've had the good fortune of attending a number of playoff events for all of the sports I care about: LA Kings playoff games, San Jose Shark playoff games, and I attended just about every home game up until the World Series of the Giants championship run a few years ago.  I thought I knew what emotion/fan insanity was.  I really don't think any of those compared to yesterday's event.  I think the combination of a 10 year drought (most of that amongst just being terrible) for the team and the fans, the sheer number of people at the stadium, and the fact that half of that # had been partying in the lot all day just led to something special.  And that something special went way over the top with that fourth quarter.  Just the greatest sports experience of my life by FAR.

Eli didn't look all that great when some pressure was applied by GB so I'm hoping the Niners can shake him up.  Niners should be able to field a better run game than Green Bay did and hopefully can keep up the positive turnover ratio.  Should be a rocking game Sunday.
