Im going to be quite interested in who and how the Packers play vs the Lions this weekend. The game is meaningless, positioning wise and I wonder how long they are going to be willing to risk Rodgers ( as well as a few other key players ). Against Detroits d-line and vs a team thats needing a win for a better playoff position? I would be surprised to see Rodgers play more than a series or two. If the Packers take the loss here, people will understand but if they play for the win and lose Rodgers to injury, their Superbowl dreams would likely be over.
I'm guessing that they'll play their starters for at least a half unless Rodgers is getting pounded on early. The Packers will have a bye week, but you don't want them to be rusty. Also, Rodgers had more yardage in both games against the Bears than Brees had. Just saying.

I am way, way more concerned about the Saints in the playoffs than the Packers.

was busy proving that I wasn't dead yesterday. Today's my first day back at work, so been busy. Yes it's great to see so many players in the pro bowl. I'd rather see them in the superbowl It truly shows what Harbaugh means to the 49ers.

Going to be very interesting to see how the niners will win this one without any WR's other than Crabtree and Vernon Davis. This game will determine how tough the playoffs will be for them.

No, it won't. The Niners are playing the Rams who couldn't stop a 100-year old Grandma from rushing for 200 yards in a game.

Even Sean Payton said he overlooked them all during their weekly practices and fostered an attitude of looking at them as pushovers. Any good team can still lose to a bad team if they don't put effort into it. That being said, I hope they beat the 49ers so my Saints get the 2 seed.

That was his mistake. If you gameplan cut-back runs on around 70-80% of the running plays, whomever you have as the "feature" back will rush for 100+ yards. The reason the Saints lost - everyone run was straight ahead and then they gave up on running the ball. The Rams DL is good enough to get pressure when they don't have to worry about staying at home and protecting the cut-back lanes. Which is probably true of any NFL defensive line. The Rams other win - Cleveland... I think that says enough.

Aaron Rodgers is sitting today against the Lions, Matt Flynn will be under center in the regular-season finale.

Not surprised at this. The Packers are very dependent on Rodgers and really shouldnt risk him in a meaningless (to them ) game. This also gives them an opportunity to tune up their back up against a playoff team. I did expect a couple of series out of Rodgers but giving the entire game to Flynn makes sense as well.

Saints are looking damn good at the right time of year. I see the Rams are coming back. I can only hope they do, but I have a feeling we will be playing in the first round of the playoffs.

As a reward for their shitty defense, Detroit now gets to face NO in NO rather than Dallas or NY. Ouch.

not sure where the vaunted d thing came from. They have an average secondary thats beat up by injuries. My grandma could probably throw for 400 on them. Brees is going to torch them for sure. The only hope Detroit has is that Stafford plays like he has been and they can out score NO. After all he had over 500 yds and 5 tds today.

But won't be playing in the Pro Bowl even though he has 41 TDs this season - which is a rather unique number for QBs - but Eli Manning gets the nod....

As did the Broncos. Tebow throws the game losing INT, then the Chargers throw a game-clinching TD moments later. Jesus loves the Broncos even when they lose.

That just exemplifies the ineptitude of the Rams this season. It has been epic. Almost Scott Linehan-esque.

I actually thought the fake that didn't count against Arizona was better. I thought this was better because Crabtree was obviously out in the open (why would a WR be in that position for a FG) and they still didn't cover him. If I was the Ram's I'd be calling a T.O. It was amazing how they didn't react to the niner's formation.

I had to listen to the game since I was driving. Can anyone tell me if the Cowboys were actually on the field during the first half?

Well, it was great to see the Pack beat the Lions while sitting a few key players. It was a pretty crazy game and my voice is still a little hoarse.
I admit I wouldn't mind the Lions to beat the Saints if for no other reason to see the Lions make it back to Lambeau. The only team the Packers should have a tough time with in the playoffs is the Giants. They played the Packers the hardest during the regular season, and the other teams are dome teams that will wish they were playing at home during the playoffs.
While it'd be interesting to see a rematch of last year's Super Bowl, I doubt it will happen, but a rematch of Super Bowl XXXI looks very possible. That would be a fun game to watch.

Yikes Niners OC Greg Roman is a finalist to take over the Head Coach job at Penn State. Poor Alex Smith can't catch a break, possibly gonna be a new coordinator AGAIN next season.
