Why do they need to reboot? Why not take the jumpverse and expand on the story? Set it on like, an adjoining street or something - grab a new / different street (Didn't johnny depp train 20 or so in season 7?) and tell THAT story. You can tell stories within the same world without having to destroy everything that has already been built. 21 Jump Street had an ending - but the whole world doesn't need to be reset.
But I guess 22 jump street just doesn't have the same ring to it...

Yep, exactly. Well put. I think they need to take a look at Degrassi. That universe has had a successful sequel series that has actually been outperforming the original Degrassi Junior High and Degrassi High. Degrassi TNG even has some of the original characters back into adult roles, which adds depth the series and the storylines. It doesn't crap on what's already been done that way.

Then you missed out. I liked this series. My favorite episode is when they each recount their experiences with school bullies.

MIL was in town and watching the kid, and this was literally the ONLY movie there was a remote chance of of enjoying, so we went this afternoon.
It was silly, but pretty funny. We enjoyed it.

I saw this one Saturday. I thought the trailers made it look like the worst movie ever, but it was surprisingly funny. I went in only because the reviews were so damn good, but ended up laughing out loud several times. Don't judge this one based on the crappy trailers shown on TV.

The scene in which Hill is trying to have a phone conversation with the girl he likes while Tatum just attacks him (in a goofy way) had me in stitches. The movie was a surprisingly funny one.

While picking up some necessities for our upcoming trip to Florida we picked up 21 Jump Street as an impromptu impulse buy and watched it last night.
Like many have said, it was far better than it had any right being. I found Ice Cube to be a little over-the-top, but funny, and Tatum impressed me. But Jonah Hill started to grate on my nerves after a while, especially since Tatum's character seemed to have been presented with more depth while Hill's performance felt flat and uninspired. For me Tatum stole the show and Hill was more supporting than co-star.
I still enjoyed it and it certainly had some really funny moments. I'd say it fits it's 85% rating on RottenTomatoes, making it a solid entry in the comedic genre. It'll definitely be watched again, so I'm glad it's in our movie collection.

This. We watched the movie last weekend on a whim and were laughing throughout the entire thing. The car chase where they're surprised that all the movie cliches do not explode was hilarious. I do think that Channing Tatum's science demonstration was the funniest part of the movie, however.

When he was high? "One particle of unobtainium has a nuclear reaction with the flux capacitor - carry the '2' - changing its atomic isotoner into a radioactive spider. Fuck you, Science!" I was also in tears when they were trying to throw up the drugs. I'm actually surprised at how much mileage my wife and I have already gotten out of quotes from the film. Fuck you science, two-strappin', Korean Jesus being busy with Korean shit, etc. Every Monday we have a "date night" with friends of ours which usually involves dinner and either some TV or a movie. Tonight we're having green chili pork with black beans and will be watching this. Fuck you, Glee!

Edit: I should say parts of it were. They used a few other New Orleans-area high schools as well.
