so, anyone got anything exciting?  me, I'm probably going to end up at a small get together over at a friends house where there will be food and booze.  Unfortunately all the women that will show up will either be married or dating a friend, but this year I really don't feel like putting up with crowds of strangers.  Tonight I shall also finally be exposed to Guitar Hero (and maybe Rock Band) so there should be some fun times.

Hang out with my wife, read No Dominion, and probably play some Witcher.  Boring yes but neither my wife and I have ever cared much about New Years Eve.

A small get-together with close friends. Kind of a pot-luck thing. Maybe we'll watch a movie and play some games too.

I have dinner with some extended family every year, my brother and wife and my woman will be there. Will be quiet but fun, we might go out afterwards but I think that is very unlikely. I think New Years is tremendously overrated so I won't be too broken up about it.

Never cared much for New Years here either.  So it'll be sushi with girlfriend's family around dinner-ish($1 plates!), then spending it with my family, including depward and his fiancée.

Going out to dinner with some friends then we are all coming back to our house for some Rock Band and Wii Sports until the ball drops. (And hopefully beyond.)  With enough gin and tonics I might even get behind the microphone.  paranoid

I work until 11 tonight, then it will be in to bed before the ball drops.  Don't drink alcohol so that elminates 99% of what most people do for new years.

The wife and I are celebrating our second anniversary today... primarily by finalizing the sale of our house smile  All of the repairs and whatnot has seriously strained our budget, and we're both physically exhausted from moving this past weekend, so we're just going out for a nice dinner.

I work a 12 tomorrow, so the wife and I'll most likely chill at the house and maybe get our respective Rock Bands a bit further in career mode.

Nothing much.

Probably going to pick up some dinner from the Cheesecake Factory (spicy cashew chicken for me YUMM).
Then hang out at home with the family like any other night.

I'll probably either watch a movie, play some Ratchet & Clank or read some programming books and then hit the sack shortly after midnight.

Rest of the family will probably crash around 10pm.

Yay for married life   crybaby

let's see.  wife, 7 months pregnant, works until 11:30.  if she's lucky, she'll be home before midnight.  not counting on it much though.  she'll be tired and will go to bed by 1.

daughter, 2 years old, threw up 3 times yesterday with little cause.  she seems ok now, but you never know.  that pretty much stops the party my brother in law is having from including us.

so i guess the majority of my day will be playing whatever game grabs my attention when i get home, drinking a bottle or two of the beer i plan on grabbing, and then staying up late to game.

Well, the combination of a nasty cold,  one out of two kids sick, and up to six inches of snow expected will make this a quiet evening. I don't care much for the holiday anyway. I may drink a glass of bourbon, to help with the cold  icon_wink, and take it easy.

We're hosting 2 families over.   One of them is bringing a Wii for the loft TV setup.  I have Rock Band for the main family room.

We're not the big-drinking sort.  A beer and/or glass of wine or two but that's it.

We were going to spend it at a friend's house but they ended up having a surprise stay over from family so they cancelled. We're off to the movies and dinner out instead, then taking it easy here the rest of the night.

I had my eardrum burst yesterday due to an incredibly painful ear infection, so I'm hoping that tonight, I'll finally be able to sleep. In a bed. Without tossing and turning, wishing I had better drugs (I have better drugs now).
And, as I'm not a huge fan of this holiday, I'm kind of glad I don't have to do that much tonight.

I'm at work until 7:30pm and back at work tomorrow at 7:00am.

I'll hang up the new calendar, pack my lunch for tomorrow, watch something on the DVR and be sawing logs by 11pm.

New Years is just another day.

I love you guys.  You all pretty much share my attitude about New Years Eve/Day.  Just another day.  I'm hanging out with my kids.  We're munching on some finger foods and watching the Twilight Zone marathon on Sci Fi.  We do that every year.

Stuck out of town on another work trip, just like on christmas.  Had a couple of drinks earlier, will go to bed early as we have an early start in the morning.  I'd rather be home playing mass effect.  Like most of you, I've never thought new years was a big deal.

I was gonna hang out with friends, but they decided to go to a casino, and I'm not thinking I will be going.  So now I'm at the house where I rent a room hoping for a quiet night.  Too bad the homeowners deadbeat son is here under house arrest and it looks like he's attracting visitors.  Not a good night to have the room just off the living room.

I need a beer.

Working midnite to 8am at a desk.  Probably watch a movie or two, and play lots of Panzer Tactics or Valkyrie Profile Lenneth.

I screwed up and thought that I had to work today so I just got some Chinese food, watched a movie and went to bed about midnight so I could get to work on time this morning.  And then I turn up and nobody else is here.  That will teach me not to look at the next month/year on the HR calendar!

We had Erin's parents over for dinner, and made a killer steak. We got them to play some Wii. They left around 11pm to go home, only to be greeted to their house being broken into. What a way to start out the new year!

Damn you guys lead boring lives slywink

We rented a limo and headed to the city (San Francisco, about 45 min. away from me) with a squad of 8, it included my brother and I and a 6 hot females (although that included our girlfriends). We got to the bar/club at about 10PM and the cover included an open bar so we got tipsy, danced, more friends showed up at the place, took lots of pics, smoked cigars, then the limo picked us up at 2AM and we headed home. By far my most fun NYE yet, I'm just happy I pulled all that off and am not hung over, on top of that I squeezed in some Uncharted time before I passed out  thumbsup

That was pretty funny.  Without the music, it just looked like a lot of random firing.

I also thought it was funny that while one local channel has the "rights" to the Space Needle show, another local channel has a tower shot on one of their digital alternate channels that was conveniently aimed at the Space Needle at the time.

went to a pretty ridiculous party at a friends house and proceeded to play beer pong, flip cup, asshole and twister (yes, THAT twister).  i thought people where joking when they said wed be celebrating every new year up to and including hawaiis - at 5 in the morning i realized it was no joke (im east coast usa).  went home and slept until very late this afternoon.

highlight was the hilarious moment when 3 friends, who had ducked out at about 10:30 local time, came barging in the door, almost falling over themselves as the rest of us were on 5 or 6 in the countdown, making it back for the new year JUST in time.  and then explaining exactly what craziness it took to make it there
