This picture was in the first folder. It is of my Grandfather in the Phillipines during WWII.

Seriously, "Main Street" of Roswell during the UFO festival is a freaky, pathetic place. And not in the cool way. Totally unenthusiastic about being a city based on total BS.
How can you say that? "Anything is possible" or so I was told recently about Rosewell, Crop Circles and the Philadelphia ExperimentRoll Eyes
At the risk of derision, I'll simply say that the Philadelphia Experiment has been pretty well debunked, but there is still a LOT of contention and conflicting reports about the Roswell incident.

Rumor has it that they're going to ship all the medical training down state.

It's no rumor.  All medical AFSC training will be co-located in San Antonio.  In fact, all armed forces medical training will be there together...they're looking at 2011, IIRC.

I guess that makes sense from an economy of scale and keeping the same standards, but a part of me really hates to see the draw down of all these bases due to actions like this.

My Dad works at Sheppard, so I get some updates about what's still going on in the USAF.  They wouldn't let me serve, so I have to get my fix somehow.

It's a 1972 Opel GT, my first car.

Oh, yay, memories!  I was in love with the Opel GT... back when I was driving a 60-something Ford Falcon.  Never did get one.   tear

Off to My Pictures now to see if there is anything in there.

EDIT:  I finally found the folder inside the My Documents folder (huh?)... but then I realized I didn't know how to get the picture out of there and into here.  Probably something really simple, right?

AHA!  I realized I might have the same exact photo in my Photobucket album, which I did, lol - so here it is:

The name of that photo is "Bug in Socks" because that's my dog, her name is Bugaboo, and she'd just had her dewclaws removed.  Putting socks on her and taping them above the "elbow joints" was the only way we could keep the bandages on her.   icon_razz

First picture of first folder. Had to re-size it so it wasn't still ginormous which makes it look even crappier. I need to go do it again after I've used the camera more.

Ha ha, that's a good one Purge.  I couldn't wear it around my town though.  I live in a very PC town; I'd probably get attacked by carrot-wielding people, with or without pitchforks and torches.  paranoid

That is a riot! I've wanted some kind of Woot shirt for awhile now, I just keep forgetting to go look for one.  It's a good thing I didn't get one yet, as I had no clue on the Secret Greeting... or the Secret Response. Whew, close call.

In an aside - in the song, that guy's voice reminded me very much of David Bromberg - well, at least if he was trying to sound like he couldn't sing.

For those who aren't familiar, there's a new shirt up every night at midnight Central for $10.  They they do the weekly reckoning that starts on Fridays where they rank the current 27 shirts in production and whatever finishes out of the top 20 are offed at the end of Monday.  Anything you don't get on Deal of the Day is $15.  They also do Random day where the price drops to $6.66 a shirt and you can end up with just about anything that they've sold previously.

Maybe this one would work better for your town, Myto.   Click to go to that shirt's page.

Yup, Izzy, that's my town - except that all four creatures would be different in some way.  Our population is quite diverse mostly because it is not only a college town, but is in the middle of what's called "The Five College Area."  It's almost like living in the city and in the country - we have all kinds of ethnic restaurants, plays, sports, art shows, museums, and cows, sheep, llamas, pigs, horses, and farmland, plus a lot of conservation land.  Everything cool, in a small-town package.  Of course, it only feels like a small town in the summer when the the stude-nuts go home, but that is one of it's charms as well.  nod
