New Blu-Ray releases:

Sleeping Beauty: Platinum Edition (3-disc)

With how much new BR releases tend to be ($25 range give or take, for a single disc), that's gotta be one expensive release.

Thanks again for posting this and enjoy your time in Disney!

I'll rent The Happening just to see how bad it really was.

$24 on amazon, if I'm looking at the right thing. 2 disc blu-ray plus the DVD

It was this moment that took the movie from being a little ho-hum to “holy shit, did that shark just eat a plane!?”

I am back from Disneyland. Wow, was it hot in Anaheim. I think it was 90+ degrees both days I was in the park. The new Finding Nemo submarine ride was cool. Also saw the Haunted Mansion decked out in Nightmare Before Christmas decorations. My friend, whose family we went with, has an older brother who is a director and one of the executive producers of Desperate Housewives. We got to visit the set while they were shooting an episode and we got a private tour of Universal Studios. I got a family picture of us standing on the actual chariot from the Ten Commandments. It was sitting in a covered storage area in one of the private areas. Oh yeah, I also saw Eva Longoria and Felicity Huffman on set.

Back on topic, I picked up the Sleeping Beauty Blu-Ray at Disneyland. The video remastering is jaw-droppingly stunning. The colors pop off the screen and the detail is amazing. The audio/video commentary track with Leonard Maltin and John Lassiter and one of the Disney animators was really well done. They gush about the movie a bit much, but the stories they tell about the making of the movie are fascinating. Disney put a lot of work into this release and it shows. Definitely worth buying.
