The wife and I caught a screening  of this last night, and we both laughed almost non-stop through the whole thing.  The best way I can describe it is that it's a high school coming of age geek movie with ZERO sentimentality. It looks and acts like it's set in the mid eighties (the main character even wears moon boots and parachute pants), yet anachronisms like the internet and cell phones pop up from time to time.  The closest thing I can compare it to is Ghost World, or a Wes Anderson movie, but with none of the pretentiousness present.  Definitely an instant classic.!!!!!

This is one I definately want to see.  In the trailer I saw it looked like it had the same kind of quirky charm that a Wes Anderson movie has with interesting characters.  Loved Ghost World, so I take that as two thumbs pointed in the right direction.

wow, really that good? i was expecting it to be funny, i saw the previews and it looked like a cult classic, something that was probably funny but just too wierd for most people to like (or admit that they like). thats cool, ill check it out.
