So, back in 2004, a friend of mine put together a four-hour stop-motion Lego film. He's finally uploaded part one to Youtube. It's totally analog, no digital effects, and took him two years to make. It's heavily influenced by Lord of the Rings with much more gore. We used our own voices, voices from Warcraft III, music from who knows where (all credited in part two). It's amateurish, with several errors or things we didn't catch when filming it, but we were total amateurs and learned as we went. Take a look at it if you have some time. I don't know: If interest is high enough, I will upload Part 2. why not just upload it now? I can't speak for others but I know I'm not really going to spend 2 hours watching the first part when there is a chance that it may not be continued even though the second part is done. |

The animation quality is actually pretty great but the video quality and audio mixing could use some work. Also, I made an hour long live action video for my college portfolio and people thought I was crazy. 4 hours?  |

This reminds me on a side note there's a cool new app for iPad called iStopmotion which basically lets you make stop-motion movies using pictures from the iPad etc, it also does stuff to fill in the blanks to improve the animation I think. Kinda fun app.

Yeah, the audio quality was awful because we had no idea what we were doing. We recorded in the same room as a really loud computer and actually did our best to minimize background noise. It was still frustrating. The video quality was icky because we used the only camera available to us: The LEGO camera that came with the LEGO movie-making program. It was a $30 camera back in 2000, so yeah. We did the best with what we had.
