To PR_GMR: I feel exactly the way you do about horror movies. I can't get enough of horror movies. Even bad ones. Recently watched The Cave, The Descent, The Hills Have Eyes 2, The Devil's Rejects, Feast, Undead, Silent Hill and the original The Eye. Loved them all. Silent Hill was good too, and was filmed not far from where I live.

I loved the PotC movies. I liked Transformers. But hold on to your hats...

I like STEALTH. I have seen it more than once.

I like Pool Hall Junkies, don't know many people that saw it and didn't like it though.  Interesting bit was the shot that CW does was done on the first try, it was actually his practice shot and he insisted they film it just in case.

I enjoyed all 3 prequels.  I don't think they are as good as the originals, but I have loved seeing them and still enjoy them.  Do they have problems? yeah, but that doesn't make them hate able(at least in my opinion).

I actually liked PM better the second time. All my hopes of it being terrific gone, I could enjoy it for the simple and mediocre film it was. No hate.

Did you watch the director's commentary?  I think they talked about that very scene and how they were running low on film, cost was becoming an issue, but they decided to film the scene in its entirety and hoped for the best.  And apparently that is exactly what they got.  I really enjoyed the commentary as it shed a great deal of light on how the film came to be, how they filmed all of the kick-ass trick shots, and how much fun Palminteri and Walken had making the picture.

I've read the books.  I love the books.  But how else could they have made this movie?  Douglas Adams wrote it, including the stuff that people hate.  It's funny, it's creative, and it tried it's darndest to stick the source material.  I wish I could have seen Restaurant at the End of the Universe, because that's my favorite book.  Ah well.

they weren't in the real world.  The real world as they knew it was another level of the Matrix, concordantly vis a vis quid pro quo et tu Alan Greenspan.

King Arthur:  Yeah, I said it.  This seems to be a popular film to hate on internet message boards, and it was certainly panned by critics (although Roger Ebert saw something worthwhile in this film), but I just really enjoy it.  I like the action, I am a big Clive Owen fan, Stellan Skarsgård is fantastic as the leader of the murderous Saxons, the action is bloody and frenetic, and while the history of the film may be in question (but how many films can claim pure 100% accuracy?), I enjoy it as an emotional action film.

Transformers:  I see so many lamenting this film, complaining about the close-up action sequences, or Shia LaBeouf's performance, but I'm not ashamed to say that my wife and I effing love this movie.  The action is kick-ass, the animation is phenomenal, Shia LaBeouf plays a funny and quirky character, and while some of the dialogue is painful (although have any of you actually listened to the dialogue in Star Wars, given the film's overwhelming praise), it gets a lot of play in our house, mainly when we want a fun action movie to shake the pictures off our walls.

The Island:  I'm not sure why this movie was considered to be so bad.  I really liked the cloning premise, the action was pretty kick-ass, Ewan McGregor and Scarlett Johansson played the ignorant, inexperienced clones pretty convincingly, Steve Buscemi is great as always, and I've come to really appreciate Djimon Hounsou.

I'm in for these three as well, though I'm not quite as up on Transformers as you seem to be, I do still enjoy at least sections of the movie. Mads Mikkelsen's character in King Arthur kicks ass. Still get pissed when they kill him. It's one moment in the movie that makes me throw up my hands and yell bullshit to the heavens, but I still enjoy it anyway.

My own contributions to the thread:

Kingdom of Heaven. I think I'm the only person I know that really likes that movie. Everyone gets this pained look on their face when they see it on my movie rack and I just don't get it. Yes, Orlando Bloom was miscast, but he does a decent job and I really like the movie.

The Resident Evil movies too. I know they're bad, but I like watching them anyway. I think I'm just a sucker for any movie with shambling undead involved. Makes me wonder why I don't like more Nic Cage movies.

Ah, and for a truly guilty pleasure, Last Man Standing. You know, that (to most) crappy Bruce Willis attempt at a noir movie? I watch it every so often and enjoy it. Yes, it's cheesy as hell, but that's part of what I love about it. It's just fun to watch them all ham it up. I have a great time watching it.

And uh, count me in for Kung Pow, Silent Hill, and Reign of Fire too. I own all three. Kung Pow is actually popular with a bunch of people I know. It gets quoted a lot. Stuff like "My finger points" in the most nasally squeaky voice possible is a popular one, as is the "Your shirt is RED" stuff. And Gopher-Chucks. You can never get enough of Gopher-Chucks.

"THAT'S A LOTTA NUTS!!" is a popular quote around our house, as is the "weee-oooo-weeeee-oooo" noise.  A buddy of mine even busted out the "My nipples look like Milk Duds!" line the other day, and I damn near choked on my drink.
