Just trying to make people's brains work a bit. Next clues:
This movie's TV sequel had its first four episodes released on DVD recently and it is released in Canada today. This movie also has an upcoming theatrical sequel as well.
That should help you guys a bit...

Ok, I know what it is. Eldon told me the genre and I got it from there. Yep, you guys weren't taking my clue to think beyond mainstream Hollywood movies. Once I told Eldon he said, "Yeah, I've seen that"

I'm still waiting for Chris to e-mail me and see if he is right.
You have to think beyond mainstream movies...I don't think this movie even hit a major theater and probably played only in more art house-like theaters. E-mail sent. And I didn't even know it was released in theaters!

Nope. I think I've stumped all but Chris. Next (and probably final) clues:
The genre is Japanese Animation. This movie was released theatrically in Japan and here at the same time. It went on to become one of the best selling VHS anime releases ever and possibly the highest selling up to that point.
The DVD release of its TV sequel last week is probably one of the biggest anime releases this year.
The movie sequel will premiere in theaters here on September 17th, it was released in Japan in March and was an entry at the Cannes Film Festival.

Since I think I was right, and there's no other action here, I'll throw out an easy one to get the game moving: Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the War Room.

Dr. Strangelove Yep. Ahh... like a spoon of Metameucil after a week of constipation. Er... bad analogy. I was going to do this one, but it's a little devious. Nevertheless, not too difficult to figure out: Let one walk alone, committing no sin, with few wishes, like an elephant in the forest.
But please, it's not my turn...

ok Screw it... it's Mallrats.... Interesting story about that movie since it was filmed here in the Twin Cities. The mall portrayed in the movie (Eden Prarie Center) was a craphole when the movie was filmed and had many vacant storelots that Kevin used to create fake stores. Since then a lot of money has gone into it and it is now one of the largest and most ritzy malls in the area with several restaurants, a huge Barnes and Noble and an 18-screen AMC Theater. I also don't believe there are any vacant storelots there anymore. I believe Kevin Smith picked the mall because it was kind of run down.

Yep ,.. it was either that or the "dip my balls in marinara sauce so they could get a taste of home while they're at it". The rest of that quote was *not* work safe. If you haven't seen Boondock Saints, I highly recommend picking up the Fox DVD release. It's got a few deleted scenes that are hilarious; packed in with on of the most memorable "never made it to silverscreen" movies in a long time. (Movie got blackballed as it was from around the time after columbine; the premise is about two young men involved in violence... go figure)

"I came to kick ass and chew bubblegum, and I'm all out of bubblegum"
Obviously this is the line that Duke Nukem stole.
I'm sure most of you won't need hints but a small hint / trivia piece about this movie is that South Park basically copied an entire scene from this movie in a famous (infamous) scene between Timmy & Jimmy.

isnt that..they live? Correct!!! The huge fight scence in Southpark between Timmy and Jimmy was a shot for shot exact copy of a huge alley-way brawl between the two heroes in They Live.

(he's a Winnipegger too It's funny, I just read the quote now and we were talking about the game ( & movie reference) at lunch. LMK if I'm right; I'll try coming up with a good quote.

They live is oen of them movies you have to accept is form the 80's. Once you get over that... it's not half bad. The ending could have gone mildly differently... but it's sill a good movie.

Assuming They Live is correct; here's a quote from off the beaten path:
"Surely you don't believe the human tales?" "Human tails? Humans don't HAVE tails! They walk around in bad shorts saying stuff like 'Hi Helen'!"
Since this one might be way out there... the second line was delivered by the voice of a very famous actor/comedian.
