Mortal Kombat: Legacy - Season 2 announced

nearly 8 minutes of footage of an live action film that is obviously tied to Mortal Kombat has been released, and while they say it could either be for the next game they also say it could also be for a new film (or both).  personally I kinda like this new look, and it would be great to have a decent MK movie to forget that sequel they did.

of course as we saw with Alan Wake and AssCreed it's not beyond the realm of possibility that this is only being done to promote a new game.

as long as they don't kill off major characters simply due to contract negotiations and invent new ways of crappy transport (go go tunneling hamster ball!) then it might be good.  i still have the mk ost around here somewhere.

1st movie was a lot of fun, 2nd was action movies taken to an epic low. If it's light hearted like the 1st with some nice sets, I'll go see it with my son. It'd be great if it's a MK game, but considering Midways been in bankruptcy since 09, I won't be surprised if this is for a movie.

It's easy to see that this is marketing for a game. The pace is all wrong for a full movie, and it's clearly only meant for these few minutes of play time.

I didn't realize 8 minutes was now equivalent to a few   

one thing that struck me is that they kill off Johnny Cage, it's hard to imagine a full blown MK game without Johnny but a 90 to 120 minute movie it's easier to see, especially with the large cast of the games.

whether or not that means the old vision or the old vision and the new vision I'm not sure.  of course with the more realistic look they could also try for a syndicated series and see if it fairs better than the first attempt.

"It was still in its rough phase, but I couldn’t send a 2GB file over email, so my friend said I could create a private page on YouTube and sent it to him to review. It turns out it wasn’t that private.”

Looks like 12 mins from a straight to video movie thats trying to look cooler than it is. I'm not a MK fan but I don't see what this has to do with it besides I guess they use character names from the game.

This.  I might come back for Ep 2 on the basis of Tahmoh Penikett and Jeri Ryan, but I wasn't too impressed.

I actually thought it was pretty good, and this is coming from someone who detests "cool" for cool's sake. It was surprisingly well executed and both gritty and cheesy at the same time. In other words, it felt like Mortal Kombat.

they're up to 6 episodes so far.  been letting this slide but snuck a peek at the latest and it looks like they cut back on the extended re-hashes of the previous episode.  the newest looks to be about everyone's favorite thunder god.
