Stress? I thought two years ago was more stressful. Maybe because it was our first in a long long time.

What a bitch Verlander is. Glaring at his coach and laughing when he came out to the mound as he was losing the game..."what are you doing here?" Looks like he reads all the overblown press about him.
PANDA-monium tonight! What an awesome win!!!! GIANTS!!!!

Youre wrong about Verlander. Hes a competitor, not a bitch. If he was a bitch, he would have nailed panda in the head with a 100 mph fast ball. As far as the overblown press, just because you beat him this game doesnt mean a thing, if he was unhittable he would win 30+ games a year. The best pitchers in the league all have off games ( see CC Sabathia ) the good ones shake it off and come back strong. If you truly think hes overblown, ask any GM in baseball whos the 1st pitcher in the league they would anchor a staff with. ESPN already did and JV was almost an unanimous choice. The Giants are playing great baseball and Sandoval had a monster game but its a long series and 1 win isnt the end of things. Be careful how you gloat, the baseball gods can turn on you rather quickly.

I know the series isn't over, I'm just enjoying a satisfying win in a game the Tigers felt they didn't even have to play to get a win from. As for Verlander, well it's hard to relate to a guy who thinks he's above the team and above coaching.

WOW WOW WOW.
I don't know if this has been done before, but to be facing elimination in both seasons, and then sweep the favored team has to be a first. Or rarely done. What a post season ride.
Looking back to 2010 and this series, I have to say I enjoyed the 2010 more only because it was our first one since 52, and it was my first time seeing it happen. But this series seemed like we* beat out all the odds.

No no no. As a fan, you are the we, too. No matter what the cynics say. Congrats to Giants fans.

I enjoyed them in different ways. In 2010, I was a ridiculous nervous wreck, especially during the NLCS against the Phillies. When Wilson struck Howard out, I'm pretty sure I nearly threw up. I went to every home game up until the World Series that year. This year, my expectations were lower and I was way, way less nervous. I only managed to make one game. I had tickets to Game 6 of the World Series if they got that far. I watched Game 3 on an airplane back from the east coast. But last night, a buddy of mine from Australia was in town and we hit the mission to watch the game and then wandered around for an hour before things got too retarded out there. That was awesome. Watching the game in a packed bar with everyone hoping for the same thing and then finally getting it, it was really great. Walking my neighborhood giving and getting high fives and hugs from randoms, even better. So probably just as good, but different for me.

The difference for me this run is that I really appreciated it a lot more than 2010. The first one was just awesome because it had never happened before and it was a surprise the way they caught fire at the right time. This time, the pitching, defense and clutch hitting just came together in an awesome display of synchronicity that was a sight to behold. Sure they got a few lucky breaks, but the bottom line is that the starting pitching was incredible when the pressure kept ratcheting up. The defense was lights out, especially Crawford and Blanco. The hitting was beyond clutch. Scutaro was just automatic in RBI situations. Even last night, when Theriot was on second and Scutaro came up, I just knew that he would come through.
Looking back the 2012 Giants overcame so much stuff, from Wilson blowing out his arm, Melky getting suspended, Panda going on the DL for long stretches, and everyone assuming the Dodgers would win the pennant after all those big trades. I'm going to remember this season for a long time and really savor this run. Just incredible.

I'm bummed to be missing the parade today. I made it to the 2010 one, but can't get work off today to go down there.

I've missed both and I live within walking distance (1.5 miles) of the civic center.

Missed the parade today as well...but not the traffic this morning. I was in Maui for the last 6 games. It was great as there were so many Giants fans at the resort. We all gathered at the pool bar for each game and the cheering, chanting and fervor felt like being at the park. I listened to the last game on the plane and landed just in time to catch the 10th inning on an airport TV. What a great season and amazing post-season run. Once again I'm exhausted but ready for 2013 to start. Go Giants! A big tip of the hat to the Tigers. Leyland's a class act in my book. Felt a bit sorry for them (but didn't mind the sweep as a Giants' fan).
