See while this is certainly fucking brilliant,they always release these box sets when a new film is due(therefor making the box set somewhat lacking),with Django Unchained due

same with the Bond Box set,with Skyfall due out next month

I watched Pulp Fiction the other day,while the film has many great scenes,i still love the 'washing the blood off their hands' scene

The problem with basterds to me was that it only had good scenes, and just didn't come together as a movie, but rather blunder from what felt like one mostly unrelated scene to another

Balls to that,if they have put True Romance in,why not From Dusk Till Dawn and National Born Killers...as much as i love True Romance,it's the only one in that box set he did not direct and seems odd they have included it when compared to the others

I actually JUST watched Basterds today. I'm just so incredibly impressed. Watching it, I was like, "I will never write anything as good as this," and it's humbling and thrilling at the same time.

Not only that, but some of the quick cuts away from the action just magnify things that much better, such as the bar scene where it cuts away from them to show Stiglitz getting whipped, then cuts back to the bar, where Stiglitz has to bury that and keep talking to the SS officer.

The sign of a good character or characterization is if you could see a story written about nothing but that character. If you can, that's a sign you've got something great. There are so many great characters in that film, Hicox, the Bear Jew, Raine, Shoshanna, Landa, on down the line. Everyone is mesmerizing.

I just saw Inglorius Basterds last Saturday for the first time. Very entertaining movie with some great acting in it. Christoph Waitz is amazing.
