I could have sworn they'd already done this in the past. Am I losing my mind? Also, the plan of it being limited to 1500 pairs reminds me of Jennifer Government. The release and responses almost read like what was in the book  Make a limited released that everyone wants, where people will do anything to get their hands on them. |

I figured the fact that there are only 1500 of them and it was for charity made that last part pretty clear. |

I remember seeing a guy who'd done it, then I just found this lady (I guess it could have been her video that I'd seen). Of course, at the end of the video she mentions Nike patenting it and assumes that they would never make it. |

Here's the hoverboard pre-order page. $120. Not as bad as I expected. Be sure to click the video link, if you want to see a lot of details. Also, perhaps the douchiest of all marketing shills. The host of the video is the guy who does the dead-on Marty impression in the BTTF games. Also, they show off some pretty sweet Ghostbusters props early in the video. It'll have sounds that activate when it's put in motion, by the way. It'll also have industrial furniture moving discs on the bottom, so it can glide across most flat surfaces. |
