I thought the Baldwin part was more interesting. He said all those things about Palin supposedely thinking she was Tina Fey. Everything Baldwin said is how he really feels, he is to the left of Lenin. Must have made for an uncomfortable moment.

Wait, you mean he wasn't being a seriously pissed dick and douche on the talk shows? He fooled me then.
Palin's appearance was uneventful, she pretty much just needed to show up and stand next to Tina Fey. The Wahlberg bit was lame and flat when he tried to make fun of Andy making fun of him, blah. I thought the MacGruber ones were okay, I liked the older ones better.

Good move since he was coming off like a retard on talk shows...
Is this something recent? I haven't heard about any particular event.

+1. I think he knew he was going to be on SNL the whole time and was playing it up.

+1. I think he knew he was going to be on SNL the whole time and was playing it up. Yeah, I think he made some genuine, relatively benign, SNL-isn't-funny sort of comments early last week, but am guessing he knew he was going on the show by the time he went into angry-jackass mode.

How can you take this seriously? He's obviously cross promoting his appearance on SNL. He can't even keep a straight face talking to Jimmy.

There was a bunch of stuff from different sources about how he didn't think it was funny... then the kimmel thing came along and seemed to back them up.
*shrug*
I still think he probably actually was pissed... but maybe not. I like to think it was all a joke. It's hard to read sarcasm in text, so maybe I just got the wrong idea from the earlier articles.

Why doesn't that Andy guy look at him when he is talking to him. Its distracting..its like he cant do his lines and is looking at a teleprompter the whole time.

That's exactly what it is. Usually he's better at it. If you want to see bad, though, watch Christopher Walken on the show. He can't memorize a thing. He's still hilarious on the show, though.

It's a reference to this skit (which isn't that funny, really).

See Alec Baldwin in the cold open for this week. That bit would've slayed if he was actually interacting with Palin and Lorne. Instead, it came across forced and unfunny.

I think the problem is that due to the nature of the show, they don't get a ton of rehearsal time. I watched a show once that talked about how their week goes and some of it is taken up by people presenting their ideas for skits and such, meaning there wasn't a ton of time to rehearse and get all the lines memorized. Alec probably just showed up that night. These guys are probably all on drugs, which makes memorization hard.

I think it was from The Happening. I didn't see the movie so I don't know if he actually tried talking to animals but I did see a clip where he talked to a plant.
