Even if I didn't have a family, I don't know that I could ever muster the courage to ride a motorcycle.

Very nice. I'm jealous. Even if I didn't have a family, I don't know that I could ever muster the courage to ride a motorcycle.
THEY'RE DEATH MACHINES!
Not everybody values quantity of life over quality. (That said, I would never own one as long as I live within 100 miles of Boston. Drivers here are too aggressive, traffic is always too heavy, and the roads are too poorly designed and maintained. I would not enjoy riding a bike around here.)

Nice looking ride, I like the old school feel of it. If you aren't going to use the rack you should take it off and see how it looks without it. This is my new ride as of last week. It's a Yamaha Majesty 400.

Not everybody values quantity of life over quality. Not sure what that means. But family = far more quality than a motorcycle.

Poor Cota. He lurks around here making 21 posts a year for the last four years and gets no love for his new toy. I think it looks bad-ass and would love to have the guts to ride something like that.
And happy registration anniversary, man.

I was hoping that my statement about my lack of courage was an indirect love note regarding his purchase. Too subtle? and my ALL CAPS ABOUT DEATH MACHINES was meant to be ironic. But since he's been here for 4 years he's probably well acquainted with my sense of humor so he was probably guffawing in his seat.

Agreed. There's just no way you could get me onto one of those things here in Arizona. Too hot 9 months out of the year to properly wear protection, and the drivers here suck to put it nicely.

When the zombies come, that's the vehicle of choice. You know, after recently watching Resident Evil 3 on cable, I'm inclined to think you're right. Perhaps a dual sport would have been even better, but a fellow could fight/escape a lot of zombies from the pavement too! did you get some assless chaps? Aren't all chaps assless? Nice looking ride, I like the old school feel of it. If you aren't going to use the rack you should take it off and see how it looks without it. It is old school. It's a 1982. Probably older than some of you young punks around here. I agree with you about the rack. It's interesting how the rack changes the lines of the bike. It's not even the proper rack. It's got a couple of homemade widgets that allow it to be mounted. But yeah, I think it will look better without it. Maybe I can find a smaller one that fits if I need one. This is my new ride as of last week. It's a Yamaha Majesty 400. I like your scooter. I almost bought one when I got fed up with gas prices. Until I saw how much they cost! I bought a bicycle instead. Can I have your organs? Sure! Just bring squeegee and a plastic garbage bag. Is the motorcycle market like the car market with dealers almost begging for customers? Beats me. I bought this from a private owner. Though I did call about one add in craigslist that ended up being a dealer in disguise. He said he started putting a couple of his used bikes on craigslist because no one was buying them and they were starting to pile up on his lot. Anyways, if anyone is interested. It's a 1982 Honda CB900 Custom. It has a 10 speed transmission. 32k miles. I paid $1800 for it. I don't know that I'd call it a bargain, but it seemed like a fair price compared to what other bikes were selling for in this area. I've been watching the adds since early July. Missed a few that I would have liked and looked at some real clunkers too. I really like the style of the late 70's early 80's Japanese bikes. Except for the Yamahas. And it's a good thing too, because that's all my $2000 budget could afford. My dream bike would be new Triumph Bonneville. Have you guys seen those? Talk about old school. Beautiful. -Cota

Theres a used car dealer near me that actually sells used bikes. I dont think Ive ever seen that before. They have some nice ones outside. Ive seen a Goldwing, a BMW, and even Nighthawks out there.

I've renewed my motorcycle license every time I have to renew my driver's license. I've been doing it since I turned 16 (I started off on my motorcycle instead of a car). However, I haven't owned a bike in almost 20 years. I keep wanting to get one, but then I realize that it would probably last all of about 15 minutes in my neighborhood before it got trashed or stolen. Oh well, maybe someday when I get the courage to leave this godforsaken city and move somewhere with a crime rate below 120 percent.
