I don`t know if I missed some conversations on this already, so if I did, sorry. But WTF, they didn`t raise any money AT ALL??? And the performers got gift bags??? I don`t know about you guys, but I`ve been "aware" of africa`s poverty for quite some time. Why raise "awareness" about something that EVERYONE already knows about. I`m all about helping people, don`t get me wrong...but, this was ALOT of effort, for not really much results IMHO. Didn`t live aid raise millions of dollars, and this nothing...just awareness...awareness for something that I would assume MOST people already knew of...Yikes!

I think its a load of horseshit that celebs get bags at all.  Why not donate the amount from that bag to the fund and make those rich asses buy their own gear.

Live 8 was just a way to make the performers feel good about themselves without having to actually do anything meaningful.

I refused to watch it. Dont care for most of the acts but mainly I dont care how they think Africa is something special. We have homeless and hungry in the US and Ill never ever send money specifically to help another countries problems before something is done for our own.

I remember the first Live-Aid and I remember that there was a big scandal that the money was not actually going to the people.  Wow, was anybody surprised about that?  Watch the first few minutes of "Blackhawk Down" and you will begin to understand the problem with Africa.  The govt's over there are corrupt and take the aid long before the people who need it ever get it.

I wish the problem of hunger was easy to solve but as long as there are power hungry adults then there will always be hungry children.
