Lego Superman and Batman coming to theaters.

With Will Arnett as Batman.  Possibly Channing Tatum as Superman.  And Chris Pratt as somebody who is somehow the lead.

EDIT: As Engine points out, Pratt playing a lead regular Lego dude is just one indicator that this is a Lego movie with cameos, not a Supes/Bats Lego movie.

I'm pretty sure it's not a "LEGO Superman and Batman movie", I think it's more of a LEGO movie that happens to have cameos from Batman and Superman (and likely other characters, I would assume).

Anyway, hopefully it turns out fun.

I would certainly imagine there will be.  There is also the Minifigures Online MMO that Funcom has been working on for a while, that is now taking beta applications.

One of my best friends growing up was such a stickler for this.

Friend 1: "Hey, anyone want to play Legos?"
Friend 2: "Sure!  Let me just go get my box of Legos out of the closet!"
This Friend: Truthiness! "I believe you all mean to say you want to play with Lego brand construction blocks?" Truthiness!

There was one time Kellogs had an integration with Rice Krispies on The West Wing and the characters had to keep talking about making Rice Krispies Treats, which is an awkward thing to say, product-placement be damned.  Everyone calls them Rice Kripie Treats, as far as I know.

And then there was the time Tivo started suing people for referring to recording something on the television as "Tivoing" instead of asking Kleenex how that worked out for them.

Watching the previews for this and seeing that it's being dumped in February makes me wary of this movie being any good, sadly.

I'll give you "annoying", but that's it.  It's like they commissioned a cheap pop producer to shit out some super formulaic tie-in song.

I wouldn't be surprised as it's a kids movie if they were just trying to capitalize on the lack of other real competition.

But kids are in school.  They won't make the same money they would when they're out.  And it should be a tentpole franchise film.  Statistically, if this was any good, it would come out in the summer.  February is traditionally a dumping ground for film.

I had zero interest in this movie. Legos weren't part of my childhood (plastic hadn't been invented yet; we had Lincoln Logs), I don't have kids, and I don't like kids' movies (with a few exceptions). Based on those two reviews, though, I added it to my netflix queue.

Went and saw it today. Perhaps I was overhyped from the Rotten Tomatoes reviews. I thought it was "cute" but not particularly hilarious or deserving of Best.Kids Movie.Ever status. My 4 year old was bored to tears within 30 minutes, which didn't help matters.

Still, as a Lego fan I really enjoyed it. I could have waited for a rental though.

Little B 4.11 wanted to see it, but the crowds this weekend were absolute madness and every showing was sold out.  Decided to wait a couple weeks until things settled down with it.

We ended up seeing Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs 2 at the dollar theater instead, which I thought was quite good.  Much funnier than I was expecting.

I don't think it is the best kids movie ever but it is one of the best animation movies for adult.

I saw it and like it, but I don't know about that.  I think Frozen was better.

Just to add another 4 year old data point, my 4.7 year old daughter went and was quite bored pretty quickly.  She plays with Legos but the jokes went right over her head.  My 7.7 year old daughter got all but those aimed at the adults and had a much better time.  I think the difference is the ability to pick up on puns.

I think the reviews / hype skewed a bit over the top because most people thought this would be a crappy toy tie in movie.  It was much better than that.  It wasn't the greatest ( I too liked Frozen better).  It is pretty good fun though and well worth seeing.  My kids loved it, they are 12 and 10.

There must be some correlation with how much of a Lego maniac you were growing up. I thought it was one of the best "kids" movies in a very long time. I found it clever, incredibly funny and surprisingly touching at the end. Then again, I still build Legos as an adult. My 9 year old daughter loved it too.

Just saw it, and both my daughter and I loved it (though, as I feared, I'm already getting tired of Everything is Awesome).

The ending danced a little close to sappy, but I think they pulled it off.

Big thumbs up from me.
