So somehow spiders in Australia get bigger in urban areas.

Only in Australia do giant spiders get bigger.

While at a international marksmanship competition a few months ago the unthinkable happened.  Something was crawling on my neck during my long range slow fire, and it felt like a large insect. In the space of 10 seconds, I experienced the five stages of grief.

1. Denial - It's nothing. Just a piece of grass. Don't worry about it. It's not like there's a spider crawling on my neck.

2. Anger - Why the holy hell is this happening now?! It's my spotters fault, he failed to spot this huge spider crawling all over me.

3. Bargaining - Please don't be a spider. I'll do anything, I'll even let the Canadian sniper team win.

4. Depression - Why am I still shooting? Its over, this spider is going to bite me and it's probably going to be poisonous venomous

5. Acceptance - Hey...I'm actually doing great. Spiders are okay, they have a right to crawl on people.    Nooooooooooooooooo! It's made its way on my face!!!

Why are USASOC and USAMU in the open section?

And I guess the LVPD needs to work on their skills.  When you're getting outshot by Fort Lauderdale, it's time to re-evaluate.

Oh, and don't they usually keep the foreign sniper teams' identities classified?

*Apparently the British don't:

Quote
"It's snowing there this weekend", said Corporal Lee Griffiths, a member of the British sniper team. "It snowed in England, so we have to deploy on exercise (there) the Sunday we get back."

When asked if he was glad to be on this side of the Atlantic, Griffiths replied, "Yeah, at the minute definitely. It's easier to shoot because your hands aren't shaking in the cold."

If you do see a large spider like that, here's how not to kill it.
