While at a international marksmanship competition a few months ago the unthinkable happened. Something was crawling on my neck during my long range slow fire, and it felt like a large insect. In the space of 10 seconds, I experienced the five stages of grief. 1. Denial - It's nothing. Just a piece of grass. Don't worry about it. It's not like there's a spider crawling on my neck. 2. Anger - Why the holy hell is this happening now?! It's my spotters fault, he failed to spot this huge spider crawling all over me. 3. Bargaining - Please don't be a spider. I'll do anything, I'll even let the Canadian sniper team win. 4. Depression - Why am I still shooting? Its over, this spider is going to bite me and it's probably going to be poisonous venomous 5. Acceptance - Hey...I'm actually doing great. Spiders are okay, they have a right to crawl on people.  Nooooooooooooooooo! It's made its way on my face!!! |
