I love the working title for the film: Untitled Alien Prequel. If I were to post that over at OO in the Prometheus thread they have currently running, it would cause more than one head to explode.

Has there been any word about the other "outside" Marvel based movies being brought into the larger Marvel movie setting?
I know it will make things complicated, but even though I don't follow the comics, what little I heard of the Spider-Man and Tony Stark relationship sounded interesting.
Kinda wished at some point in the Avengers movie they cut to a shot where in the distance a bunch of invaders are caught in a web.

I saw a commercial last night featuring Sally Fields as Aunt May and it just felt off with her in the role. She isn't the kindly, white haired old lady I'm used to. I kept expecting Bandit to stroll in at any second.

Saw this today and i really liked it even though i had difficulty hearing what they all had to say(music and explosions were loud enough though),thankfully The Hulk is of very few words and he stole the show,as he was damn hilarious!! Two best scenes featuring Hulk(gifs inside)

Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One Collection detailed: Yep, that's a rather badass replica of Nick Fury's briefcase from The Avengers, complete with a light-up version of the Tesseract/Cosmic Cube. As far as distinctive packaging goes, this one is right up there with the Alien Anthology limited edition. As you'd expect, the Phase One box set includes Blu-ray versions of all the "canonical" Marvel Universe films thus far: Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, and The Avengers. The will also net you a bonus disc filled with behind-the-scenes extras, as well as "exquisitely detailed art, prop reproductions and artifacts from the motion pictures." damn, if I didn't already have all the movies I'd be all over that.

Finally got a chance to see this the night before my surgery. Really enjoyed it, although like some others I just felt apathetic about Scherbatsky playing a military specialist, but outside of that I enjoyed the film as a whole. Joss Whedon's hand was fairly apparent in the dialog and character interactions (not a bad thing, but not necessarily always a good thing), the film did a fantastic job of showing the characters as bigger-than-life individuals and conveyed just how momentous it was when they all finally came together as a team, the humor was truly funny, and overall it really was the gigantic culmination of multiple superheroes into one massive even-better-than-the-sum-of-its-parts experience. I left the theater happy and pleased with the final product, but it also made it fairly apparent to me how much better I find Nolan's Batman series to be. Avengers was good, but I have found films like The Dark Knight to be great. And now that I have finally seen The Avengers, I can now focus my entire attention on my anticipation of The Dark Knight Rises. Also, the post-credit scene is one of the best I've ever seen.

I'll stick this here http://insidetv.ew.com/2012/08/29/s-h-i-e-l-d-pilot/ABC orders pilot for S.H.I.E.L.D. TV show Joss Whedon might be coming back to TV. ABC has ordered a pilot from Marvel TV executive produced by Whedon titled S.H.I.E.L.D. The project is set in the same universe as Whedon’s Avengers film and follows the law enforcement group headed by Nick Fury. The pilot will be written by Whedon and his brother Jed, along with Maurissa Tancharoen. Deadline reports that Whedon also might direct the pilot too. In the Marvel universe, S.H.I.E.L.D stands for which stands for the Strategic Hazard Intervention Espionage Logistics Directorate (or Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division). Production on the pilot is expected to begin ASAP.

Hasn't been advertised much, but Avengers is re-releasing for one week into theaters, Aug. 31 through Sept. 6 (ending the day before the Raiders of the Lost Ark IMAX re-release run starts, fwiw). Collider pointed out this fun Joss Whedon Q&A at Vulture: Joss Whedon Talks All Things Marvel: The Avengers 2, the S.H.I.E.L.D. Show, and Cut Sceneshttp://www.vulture.com/2012/08/joss-whedon-talks-all-things-marvel-with-vulture.htmlYou've always had an ardent fan base, thanks to Buffy, Angel, Firefly, and Dollhouse, but now you've made one of the biggest movies of all-time, a film that almost everyone on earth has seen. Has that sunk in?
It never really has, but when it does, I'm going to become such an enormous dick. [Laughs.] I'm going to have a personal dog polisher and the biggest posse ever. I'm going to be insufferable — well, I mean more insufferable than I already am. You know, at some point, the numbers become meaningless. They're large, and you can't really count that high. I felt like I had a particular mission in making what I felt was a slightly old-fashioned movie, because I grew up wanting to make summer movies and wanting to make superhero movies, and I got to do both at once. I felt like summer movies haven't been what I remember them to be, so I felt like I would love to evoke something that's less hip and ironic and more heartfelt and character-driven, and apparently, other people cared about that in a large way.
I don't think it's a perfect movie. I don't even think it's a great movie. I think it's a great time, and I'm proud of it, but for me, what was exciting is that people don't go to see a movie that many times unless it's pulling on something from within, unless there's a need there. That's very gratifying. He seems very happy about getting a chance to give a little input on all of Marvel's projects. For me anyway, his little nips and tucks on Captain America were welcome, and I bet he might've much improved Iron Man 2's script if he'd been in position at the time to do a little tweaking on it back then. 2010 seems so far away. As for the un-used Captain America stuff, I can see why they'd weed it out of Avengers though I think it would've rounded out the character a bit better in his modern era guise. It might've worked better as a prologue for Captain America 2 though technically it led into that boxing scene used early in Avengers and glimpsed in Cap's post-credits sequence).

Okay, advice please..I may of even asked this before,it feels like it,LOL I am going to lend the following DVDs to my Dad Thor Iron Man Iron Man 2 Captain America The Incredible Hulk The Avengers(Avengers Assemble) (I was going to lend him HULK as well to watch before TIH,but after watching them both again last week,i think it's better to ignore that completely from this series) Now this is mainly because i lent him Batman Begins and The Dark Knight last year, and he watched The Dark Knight first so I am going to put numbered stickers on the spines of these DVDs so that he knows which ones to watch when But which order should they be in,or what order would you advise someone to watch them in? from the release dates?,or maybe the years they are set(Cap America would be first then),i am also taking into account the after credit scenes as well..so i think that the end of Iron Man 2 where Coulson goes to the Thor's Hammer location, means Iron Man 2 is before Thor...right? Iron man before the Hulk,The Hulks end has Stark asking Ross about starting a group,so this is obviously after he is approached by Nick Fury at the end of credits of Iron Man..but is Iron man 2 after the hulk then,or before that as well Obviously The Avengers should be last so,yeah...long story short(too late),,,what order? (I am not taking into account the 'Marvel One Shot' short films, because they are not available on the DVDs and i doubt my dad would piss about trying to find them in the special features anyway) thanks for any answers guys

I'd put Captain America before the Incredible Hulk. The supersoldier program was a major theme of TIH. Plus putting it before Thor gives you some idea of the power and influence of the Asgardians.

even with that I'd still suggest watching them in the order Marvel released them. you get hints of the super soldier program in Hulk, but that makes the full reveal more satisfying later in Captain America. With Thor before Captain America- it's like 'holy cow, just how much influence did those guys have on the MCU Earth?'.

it was TBH Captain America that was the one i was worried about(again thinking about my dad watching them)
However, the Super Solider Program was not what i was thinking about,it was the Cosmic Cube
seeing it getting lost at the end of Captain America to it ending up Odins secret room in Thor
I think i had better watch them all again..i can't remember shit,LOL

Ceekay, I understand and see your point. It makes sense assuming some familiarity with the Marvel universe. For someone who isn't familiar, Captain America fills in a bit of that background better. Plus you get to see young Howard Stark before old Howard Stark. I think that makes the legacy storyline in Iron Man 2 more impactful. I don't think you'll go wrong either way.
We see the treasure vault in Thor (along with the infinity gauntlet), but the cube isn't there. The Red Skull mentions it was the jewel of Odin's vault in CA. Presumably the cube is back there after the Avengers.

Yeah Iron man 2's After Credit Scene is Agent Coulson going to New Mexico(?)to see Thor's Hammer,so Thor should defo come after that (even in Thor when that metal guardian thing comes to that small town, one agent asks Coulson if its one of Starks and Coulson replies i dunno he doesn't tell me anything) Hulks After before credit scene is Stark talking to Ross about putting a team together,so Hulk has to come after at least Iron Man 1,but i suppose coming after Iron Man 2 wouldn't hurt either Captain America's after credit scene is a bit lame, just The Cap punching a punch bag and fury saying he has a mission for him(i guess that mission he mentions is talking about The Avengers) Thor's after credit scene is Loki controlling ....er...that guy...to get access to the Cube, which IIRC leads right up to the beginning of The Avengers
