Made it across Canada and Germany but not Philadelphia. So much for relying on 'human kindness'.  icon_frown

That's too bad, but honestly if I saw that "robot" I would assume it was garbage anyway.  It has a bucket for a body and pool noodles for arms and legs.  Kind of hard to take that seriously.

The electronics in the head make it seem a little more than just junk, though.  Plus the whole home-project nature of it was part of its charm, I think.

I hadn't actually heard about this thing existing until today, but this story made me very sad.

I hope that this gets turned into an Always Sunny... episode.  It already sounds like one.

Agreed, but fully expected. No way in hell I ever thought it would make it through the US.

If it had made it to Eastern Ohio, it would have been burned at the stake.

As an Ohioan born and bred, I take issue with this statement.  We have yet to figure out how fire works.

Yeah, I remember the local news when it had gone through my area last year. It's sad, but at the same time, I think it served its mission's purpose. The idea of the project was to see if people would trust it, and of seeing if there was enough trust in people to keep it going in its travels. The fact that it didn't survive very long on its American journey still gives them a result, even though it's not the result they were hoping for.

We can rebuild him! Philadelphia hackers offer to help.

And then there's this - video of the 'killer'.

Is this creating any tension with our neighbors up north?  I'd really hate for this to result in any bad blood that would eventually erupt into violence.  Or a poutine embargo.

Considering that this happened in Philly, it could have gone down a lot worse.

What you guys fail to realize is that the guy in the video was John Connor, who successfully came back in time to prevent Skynet.
