Did anything even moderately amusing ever follow after someone started with "I'm not a racist, but . . ." or "This might not be politically correct, but . . ."?

To me, it's the equivalent of running a talent show and saying "And now little Timmy O'Toole, who was born without a brain stem, thumbs, or feet, will play the accordion."  Of course everyone's going to clap for little Timmy, no matter how god-awful his accordion playing is, because we've been pre-conditioned to feel like assholes if we don't, and because our expectations of little Timmy's abilities have been radically pre-adjusted.  Similarly, starting out "if you are politically correct don't read this" is an attempt to pre-condition us by suggesting (1) "wow, I don't want to be thought of as a humorless, uptight, PC person, so even if this person is a fatuous douche, I better not say so", and (2) "I can tell from that title that the person is probably of sub-normal intelligence and has social skills of such a low level that LARPers find it awkward to interact with him, so I am going into this thread with very low expectations."

Your analogy fell apart at the point where the people who supposedly should be clapping at little Timmy berated him for his choice of music.

I follow Gilbert on Twitter and saw those jokes as soon as the disaster happened. If you have ever heard him interviewed on Stern, it is clear that Gilbert has some serious issues and no morality. However that's what makes him funny as hell, he just has no filter, no limits and takes everything over the top.

The first was a video of a girl saying that she prayed for 1 day and god killed 10,000 atheists in Japan for her, and she wondered what would happen if she prayed for 40 days. Comments on the video were all about how she should die. I didn't see the second video, but I gather it was her apologizing (or saying it was a joke?).

wow, i only watched about 10 seconds of the video before i just chalked it up to a religious rant, so I didn't get to the part where she states that the quake and tsunamis were the answers to her prayers.  epic comedy fail if she was joking, epic psycho in training if not.

as Hep said,she had lots of videos(before she closed her account last night),about 42 i think it said that stretched back over 12 months...going on from the real meaning of Christmas and why we have all forgotten it, babbling on about Lent and one video on why Obama is really the devil ......but as said she started getting a lot of death threats and her address appeared on the net after this latest one..and then all of a sudden 'it was all a joke' ...damn weirdo

i never listened to hitler either but I'm fairly certain he was a scumbag.  beck and robertson's statements during tragedies like this are well documented.  that you don't know this doesn't change the fact that they're scumbags.

I dont agree with everything Beck says, but he's way too smart to say something like that....even if he really felt that way. I'm pretty sure that was taken out of context, or at least he was probably being sarcastic. He does that alot.
