I'd heard about this on the way home.  Damn shame to go at such an early age.

Found it about it earlier today while at work.. Such a shame. Relatively young too. Now, there'll never be that 'Sopranos' movie to find out what happened to Tony.

This totally sucks, and comes as a complete surprise. Nobody expects these relatively young actors to go away like this, yet it does happen. This is definitely going to color any rewatching I'll do of The Sopranos, that's for sure.

Fat guy dies prematurely of heart attack. Sad, but hardly shocking. I hope he was enjoying a hearty Italian meal and a bottle of good wine when his ticker gave out. I wasn't a Sopranos fan but I did like him in the movie roles that I saw.

Wait a minute, everyone is getting on Canuck for never having seen the Sopranos when one post before Ironrod mentions that he's not a Sopranos fan?  Where's the outrage?!

I heard about this last night from a friend, and I actually had to look it up before I believed him.  Wow, that's sad.

Considering he wasn't morbidly obese, and I have no idea what his diet/general state of health was, I was pretty shocked.

He played sociopaths so well. I enjoyed watching him act. At 59, I'm thinking like most, way too young to leave.

Hey boss, you want me to whack that heart attack with my pool cue?

I'm pretty sure he was considered morbidly obese by any medical definition today.

I don't know about morbidly...

Edit: Medical dictionary:

morbid obesity  the condition of weighing two or more times the ideal weight; so called because it is associated with many serious and life-threatening disorders.

I would turn to medical sources for the definition:

Quote
What is Morbid Obesity?

Medical professionals often use the term “morbid obesity” when discussing a patient’s eligibility for weight loss surgery. Morbid obesity is generally defined as:

A body weight 100 pounds or more than what is medically recommended
A Body Mass Index (BMI) of over 40

Morbid obesity affects many people. An estimated five to 11 million Americans are morbidly obese – about one in 20 people.

I was surprised myself a while ago to find out how many people are considered morbidly obese.

I just checked. He was only 6.1. I thought he was much taller.  So I guess you win this round, hepcatman!

I'm jealous. You have the choice of watching this great TV series from the beginning as a fresh faced new comer.
Do yourself a favor. Get this show and watch TV at its best.

I only recently found out that morbid obesity isn't Fatty Arbuckle or the mom of What's Eating Gilbert Grape size.  It was kind of a rude awakening for me.  I'm not there yet, but I certainly could be if I don't watch myself and get out off my couch more.

Still, I think it's in poor taste to come into a tribute thread and start tut-tutting about how he was a fat ticking time bomb. A lot of people are overweight, it's still sad when they die.
