Since Im under orders to rest and not pick up over 10 lbs the wife has been taking care of me. Ive talked her into watching Indiana Jones. She loves action movies but has neve rseen one of them. She is in for a treat. We found that on Saturday one of the cable channels is playing all 3 of them starting around 3pm . So Ive set the DVR but we may just hit the daybed up and watch them all through at once when they come on. Sounds like fun. Haven't seen one in years.
If ya love the movies then check your cable guide for Saturday.

There's going to be an Indiana Jones marathon in my near future because one of my close friends also has not seen a single damn Indiana Jones movie. I don't understand how these people are allowed to stay in the country.

One afternoon I was having difficulty finding a file and commented that the search was so rife with obstacles and booby traps that I was about to don a fedora and leather jacket and grab my whip to continue the search.
Our administrative assistant, who has only recently turned 21, turned to me and asked, "What is a fedora?"
"It's the type of hat worn by Indiana Jones. I was merely making a reference to his treasure hunting and his typical attire consisting of a leather jacket, brown fedora, and leather whip. Finding this damn file is less treacherous than what he normally encounters."
"Who's Indiana Jones?"
I don't really remember much after that because I instantly blacked out from shock.

Last Crusade has aged very poorly to me. I loved it at the time (and still do to some degree) but I'd put it a distant third to Raiders and Temple of Doom. Just too much comedy and the action, while fun, lacked the punch and grittiness of the first two movies.
I think I'll put my daughters on Ebay if they don't like them.

Hmmmm.... yes HD, but tons of commercials, and not always broadcast in an appropriate aspect ratio (in HD). Will have to DVR and check it out... may have to do upscaled DVD's instead.

Damn Im almost envious of people who havent seen Raiders! I saw it with a bunch of friends on opening day. It was so awesome, my friends and I immediately bought tickets and watched it a second time. Raiders is the only movie Ive ever done that with. On a related note, I have a home theatre projection set up in my basement. The weekend before the new Indy comes out I am running an Indy triple feature. Beer, bbq ribs and an Indy triple feature! Good times!

Raiders of the Lost Ark was my jr high reward movie for perfect attendance. I remember thinking he looked too old to be playing that action part...then I realized it was Han Solo..OMG lol. Looking back theres no way a school would show that these days. Sad how the world has changed.

We watched the Goonies as a reward in 6th grade.
My wife's a school teacher and it's PG only for them despite teaching middle school. Something like Raiders would certainly be rated PG-13 these days so it would be off the list.
