Every year I design a special invitation for my son's birthday party.  I thought I'd share this year's design with you guys:

It was a bit of a rush job, honestly.  I don't think I could top last year's where I had him going toe to toe with Godzilla.... biggrin

Edit:  Speaking of which, here it is-

That's cool.  Once again, all the other kid's BD invites will pale in comparison.  Poor them.

Not only is that completely cool but Griffin Dunne was in one of my favorite movies - After Hours by Martin Scorsese.

Great... more Whiz-bang CGI effects and wooden acting.

Awesome card!  I assume he is turning 7?

My mom didn't have the skills (or any money), but she threw some great birthday bashes when I was growing up.  Always with some wild theme (though it was Return of the Jedi when I was young)  I wish I could figure out a way to thank her for everything she has done.  It's these little things that I seem to treasure most.  Your kid has it good! biggrin

Thanks guys!  This has been a tradition of mine for about 5 years now (and yes, this is his 7th birthday) and it's one of the things I look forward to most.  I'll see if I can dig up some of the other ones to show you (like last year's Godzilla one).

I'm going to start doing my daughter's invitations on her next birthday (I started at 3 with Griffin, and Oriana is going to be 3 in March).

As for the party, we are renting a moonwalk for the entire day.  biggrin

You're right, the Godzilla one pwns the Sith one.  I hope I get the chance to be that cool of a dad one of these days.  biggrin

Elijah, great idea!

Wow, th' FOOL, that is so th' COOL...

Just Dad doing anything special for Kid, is what it's about, though - the fact that it's cool and the other kids will wish that their Dads could do that, is just gravy (or, maybe, frosting, more in line with the event, lol)  Tongue

Congrats, Dad!

I actually put the thread title in the subject line of the email version biggrin

Hell, I wish I had had me as a dad!  I even help my family find all the obscure stuff he puts on his birthday and christmas lists for them.  Do you know how hard it is to find Japanese import Godzilla and giant robot toys outside of the internet?

Luckily, there is a comic/ sci-fi convention near us this weekend.  I've been given money by three relatives for shopping purposes  unibrow

Great job with the invite and thread title, but there is something inherently weird about that statement...smile

Kind of like the episode of Futurama where Fry finds out he is his own grandfather, or something like that.
