Did we cook our own goose with urban sprawl and/or pesticides?  Is this how it will all end?  Is god bringing on famine as promised in the end of days?  icon_wink  Regardless, the alarm on this is growing, and the ramifications are pretty astounding.

didnt read the article, but its a bit of a big deal... bees pollinate almost all our plants that grow - no bees = much fewer plants - not the best thing around - great chain of beeing and all

and a general ecological fact - few people know it but right now at this moment we are living through one of the largest mass extinction events this planet has seen... and people think their time on earth is boring pfffh

As someone who hates honey and dislikes flying stinging things I'm all for the extinction of bees.

Wow, there's this whole bee industry subculture that I didn't even suspect existed.  There are bee brokers!  Hell, it even includes migrant bees being brought to this country to take jobs American bees should be doing!  It's only a matter of time before the bee industry asks the government for subsidies, then we'll have a bee welfare state!  End the madness!

Doopri is right, this is a serious ecological issue and most definitely NOT a good thing.  This affects a lot more than just honey.

It's the bee corporations, beating down on those freelance, non-affiliated bees.

I figured it was either microwaves or pesticides, but was leaning towards microwaves.

Yeah, even if they confirm this is the cause, I don't see people fixing it.  People are addicted to their mobile phones like a drug addiction.  Cancer, tumors, or genetic damage be damned! I don't even own a mobile phone, I will never own a mobile phone.  We don't even allow those fuckers to be on inside of our home whilst turned on.  They are truly one of the most annoying pieces of technology ever invented.

Mobile Phone Industry "Stung" by the honey Bee.

Bees 'killed by mobile phone signals'
70 per cent of bees exposed to radiation failed to find their way back to the hive after searching for pollen and nectar, according to the research by Landau University.

Some preliminary reports are finding that a fungus may be playing a part in killing off the bees.  The same fungus "caused widespread loss of bee colonies in Europe and Asia", apparently.
