Anyone know a way to equalize volume levels on the ipod using itunes for the PC?  I know there's a way on the Mac called ivolume, but I can't find anything PC-based.

there's an option called 'Sound Check' in the Playback tab of the iTunes 'Preferences' menu that equalizes the volume for playback in iTunes.  it's no an option i use, however, so i'm not sure if it works to balance out the songs when they play on your iPod as well...

You might have to adjust the equalizer for each song if that doesn't work.

Sound Check doesn't work very well.  I've got thousands of songs and going through and leveling all of them by hand will be a PITA.  Some of the levels are crazy different, too.

yeah, I find that sound check makes all of my songs really quiet and I end up having to crank the volume up.  I've only really had problems with the volume on a few albums being too quiet and I just play with the volumes on those songs.

I know, I had to do it on about 200 of my songs that were crappy albums rips and so on and it was a huge hassle. I don't know how else you could fix it. Sorry.
