Some of you may recall that my wife was found to have renal cell carcinoma.

After what seemed like an eternity, tomorrow at 5:30am I'm taking her to the hospital so they can remove the bad kidney.

I don't know who's more nervous, her or me lol.

Gosh...good luck. My thoughts are with you and your wife.

I'd be a wreck if it were my wife. It was bad enough when she had her gall bladder removed.

My prayers will be with you both.

That said.. man I need my eyes to be checked as I thought you said rectal cell carcinoma.  Was trying to figure out why that would require removal of a kidney.

If it helps at all, I had a patient this weekend who's been on a single kidney for 40+ years.  icon_biggrin

The surgery lasted 3 and a half hours, was successful and she is doing fine.

Pathology reports will be in Friday, but the doctors are, "cautiously optomistic," that they got all the cancer with this procedure.

I'm so relieved I feel exhausted lol. Even today!

Well, back to the hospital!
