The thing that gets me is this:
Spoiler for Hiden:
The possible tie-in to "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" which has been rumored.

To me, it all depends on how it's done.

Spoiler for Hiden:
For example, look at Stephen King's Dark Tower series.  He tied that in to so many of his other stories, and it never felt forced or shitty, imo.  I know this doesn't have anything to do with Indy, but it would spoil the rumored link between this and CEotTK.

That was exactly what I was thinking of when it was mentioned.  He had a very good way of working those things in.

I'm sure the movie will be good.  No Sean Connery?  Oh wait, didn't he retire?

Yep.  He was offered a cameo but decided that he didn't want to break retirement to do it.

Yeah, now I remember.  He said if he was going to break retirement, it would be for this, but in the end he decided not to.

I don't get what's wrong with that?

Shia's clothing looks a little out of place given the supposed time period, but otherwise.. looks fine to me. He's supposed to be old this time.

I think it looks fine too.  In fact, everything I've seen gets me more and more excited for this, and I think they could really turn it into a fun movie.  Not sure I get where the hate is coming from.

I hope the source I heard it from is wrong.

George Lucas should not be in charge of marketing.  I wonder if he's talking like this cause he knows he botched this movie as badly as he did the first two star wars prequels.  If so I will be like this:  crybaby crybaby crybaby for weeks.

Eh, Lucas is always like that.  I wouldn't read anything into it.  If Spielberg has the same attitude then I would be worried.   Plus it's not really Lucas's movie the same way that the prequels were- these films really rest on Spielberg's back.  Contrary to the USA Today article, Lucas did not co-write the film, he co-wrote the story but AFAIK isn't credited on the screenplay.

yeah, from IMDB:

Quote
Writing credits
(WGA)
David Koepp   (screenplay)

George Lucas   (story) and
Jeff Nathanson   (story)

George Lucas   (characters) and
Philip Kaufman   (characters)

I just keep repeating to myself 'This movie will be good, this movie will be good, this movie will be good....'
