The company I work for does financial consulting for utility companies. Most of our folks have years of experience with the logistics division of major utilities. Our nuclear division usually hires ex-navy guys who went from working on nuclear subs to working in nuclear power plants.
We're actively seeking new folks, as many companies are. Our HR person gets at least a half dozen resumes a week.
...usually I don't hear him laughing loudly over any of them.
When I went into his office to see what was so funny, he just handed me a resume from some guy who has a bachelor's degree and less than 2 years of experience. He then pointed out a specific area of the resume.
This guy's starting salary requirement?
$700,000 a year.
Good luck with that, pal.
