As i love it now...but only in certain applications.

For example: Dark chocolate candy pieces (say a Hershey Nugget or See's Candy) = yes.  HOwever, Dark Chocolate in cookies. No.

On everything.  Yes.

Tobasco infused dark chocolate is especially delicious.

McNutt's homemade dark chocolate peanut butter cups are indescribably delicious.  Imagine a peanut butter cup about 3" in diameter and 1" tall made of dark chocolate with crunchy Jif peanut butter in the middle.  Yes, real peanut butter and not some stuff that looks like dirty sand.

I haven't turned the corner, exactly, as I still vastly prefer milk chocolate and will often turn down dark, but there are some combinations that just work better with it.

My wife just saw a report that folks who eat dark chocolate regularly (like once a week or so) live longer and actually lose weight.

I love Dove dark chocolate. But damn if it isn't a little bit embarrassing buying those.

Shaved over braised short ribs.

Incorporated into chili.

Added to coq au vin.

Mixed into homemade barbecue sauce.

The list goes on and on...

There are much worse things to be embarrased about.  At least they're not genital shaped. icon_smile

I couldn't stand dark chocolate when I was a kid, but I'm liking it more and more as I get older.

I used to avoid the Special Dark as a kid.  Now I go to Sam's Club and buy the full bars by the case.

I never really had a sweet tooth, even as a kid.  Dark chocolate fits right into my palate.  Just a hint of sweet and a hint of bitter.  I have found myself enjoying the recent trend towards darker chocolate mixes.  The one candy I never see anymore but am always looking for is one of those dark chocolate "oranges".

The internet has everything, including Terry's Dark Chocolate Oranges.

I got one for Christmas.  Fortunately, I also got a milk chocolate one.

Dark chocolate Snickers are great, but sadly don't seem to be available where I live. Dark chocolate peanut M&M's, which are available here, are pretty dang awesome too. Prefer dark in American candy, but nothing beats Cadbury's milk chocolate.

KD, if you stick to 85% and higher, the carb thing ain't so bad. Check out Lindt 85%, and just be sure to incorporate some protein at the same time (almonds, pecans, walnuts, etc).

My kid will even eat Lindt 99% - WARNING: eating it like a candy bar is like taking a BMX down the north face Eiger.

Take a small bit of the chocolate and savor the flavors as it melts in your mouth (think Ratatouille) . If you pack it in and chew, you're in for an unpleasant experience.

85 has 8 carbs, 3 fiber for 4 squares.   I could probably work that into my diet without too much trouble.  Good find - thanks Justin!
