And I'm not planning to see it.

Girl at work was at a conference and she said some football player famous for an injury was the keynote. I said, 'Joe Theismann'. Yep she said. That's the guy.

I thought to myself, I've never seen the injury. Nor do I have any desire to.

You are right to not want to.  It was gruesome.  One of those fortunately rare moments when you know immediately that the players career is over.

I'm enough of a 'not a sports guy' to see "Theismann" and just think "Thighs-Man sounds like a C-list superhero."

I think I saw a bit of it when it originally happened, but I've avoided it since. I think during one of the recent NBA playoff games (or maybe NCAA tournament?) they were showing it to compare it to a similarly gruesome injury that had happened on the court.

Besides, if you don't watch it now it will be CeeKay's goal to Rick Roll you the video at some time in the future.

I was watching something a few weeks ago, probably the PBS Nova show about NFL concussions, when they showed some footage of this. Basically just Theisman being carried off the field, but I knew instantly what had happened to him.

I'd never do something like that.

That's not nearly as gruesome as the guy who had his leg rolled up on. I think it was a Dallas game.

And NO WHERE near as bad as the malarchuk video.

Worst sports injury I've seen as it happened was kevin ware (louisville cardinals, college basketball) back in March when he snapped his leg almost in half. Totally unexpected and very gruesome. ~shudders~

The worst I've seen is the kickboxer that breaks his leg on his opponent's shin, then tries to put his weight back on it. And the baseball ones where the guy compound fractures his ankle by rolling in on first base are pretty bad as well.

Don't forget Tim Krumbrie.

Wobble wobble wobble goes the boneless ankle.

And they replayed it  300 times...

Tim Hudson from the Braves had his ankle stepped on while covering first base this past season. It was pretty brutal.

It was impossible not to see it at the time in the mid 80's. The networks seemed to play it over, and over, and freaking over again! It's the worst sports injury I've ever watched. I'm glad the networks finally got bored with it.

I wish they would play it every time he starts to prattle on and on again while commentating. He is such a blowhard and always has been.

I saw it live as it happened on TV and then over and over during the broadcast.   That was enough for me.
