Even though he towered above me at an awesome 40 ft, it was his proportionate perfection and engineered beauty that made me immediately fall in love with him.

His right hand held his gun down by his thigh, the left was raised, pointing in the direction his grand head faced; towards the horizon, towards the future.

You can check ebay for them.  There are some other versions than the Rhino ones.  Ron might be able to point them out to you.

Rhino had rights to do the DVD series, but Paramount bought the rights to do the Transformers films, and everything along with that.  This means that Rhino lost the rights to do DVD's of the Transformers.  That's why you'll see Transformers: Armada Part 1, but no Part 2.

Beast Machines is the most recent DVD release.  I have all of the multi-DVD releases that I know of.  I don't care for single-DVD releases of shows, so I don't have those.

What timing!  I received my box set from China today. smile  Let's turn this thread very 56k unfriendly.  First off, these are the shows, exactly as they were shown way back when.  The menus are in Chinese, but otherwise, these are exactly the same as the out-of-print-at-4-times-the-price Rhino versions.

You can order them from this guy and you'll get em in about 2 weeks for roughly 50 bucks.  (username is realcom100) (Get the expedited shipping, trust me)

Here is an example from his store: http://tinyurl.com/rmcft

BEHOLD!

I saw reviews of those Ron, that they were missing parts of the shows, and had subtitles you couldn't turn off.  Have you watched a bunch of the episodes to be sure?

Also, what is the legality of this?  I somehow doubt that there were official Chinese versions of the show.

I'd love to get them all, only have sporadic discs now, and can't pay the eBay charge.

Just started watching the set.  All 99 episodes of Seasons 1-4 are there, but I don't see any subtitles (unless I turn them on).  There are several sets out there, I'm just going off this one.  I'll report back after I burn through a few episodes at random.  As for the legality, they are pressed and trademarked DVDs.  I suspect that this was the low cost 'please don't pirate these' set that was marketed just to China.

I've grabbed several from each season and quickly looked through them.  None of them have any forced subtitling.  You have Chinese, Taiwanese, and English (5.1) to chose from for voice and Chinese or Off to chose from for Subtitles.    Looks like it is in the clear.

Watch anymore of those discs Ron?  Everything still fine with them, english when you want it without subtitles, etc.?   When you mentioned the menus were in Chinese, that means the episode titles too?  Still the right transitions for cartoons and stuff?  Is the movie on the discs too?

Tons of questions, sorry, thinking about finally ordering it smile  Thanks!

Yep, got a few more discs in.  Still as great (and hokey) as I remember. smile  The menus are in Chinese, but as soon as you get to the cartoon itself, everything is in English, including the name of the episode.  I'm still highly recommending it.

Is there a translation for the menus available?  I know, for example, that my kids always want to watch "The Secret of Omega Supreme".  Is it easy enough to find specific things?

Thanks!

(Oh, and is the movie with Unicron on it?)

I have the complete Rhino set (from a couple years ago).

You'd have to be a hard-core to get it (which I was).

at $50, I would have taken it. The only thing that Rhino did was remaster the sound and but in some decent CGI models for each disk.

I have it too, and because Rhino doesn't have the rights to publish it anymore, you'll have to more or less go the eBay route to get the original set or get the set that Ron has.

Yea, almost any of the places you order from will send you a translation decoder ring...ok, so its more like a JPG but you get the idea.  Yea, it is really easy to find things.  Just look at the translated chart of all the episode names, toss in the appropriate disc, and off ya go.
