So hes too fat to be executed by lethal injection, without difficulty? Fine, he had no problem putting 2 bullets into the back of the head of his victim, double tap him and be done with it. I dont think his being obese is an issue on that one.

Don't the states that have the death penalty have an alternate method of execution? For example, I thought the guy mentioned in that article who was hanged chose that alternate method of execution thinking that his execution would be overturned because the thought of hanging him would garner some sympathy.
I'm not a fan of the death penalty, but since this guy is scheduled to be executed, so be it. But maybe he does have a case. Executions are to be quick and as cruelty free as baby shampoo. If this guy is so fat that the likelihood of botching it goes up, then maybe there should be an alternative.

I'm torn on the death penalty. One minute I'm against it based purely on the morality of the act, then I see the faces of a victim's children, or the spouse crying on television and I'm okay with it. During those latter moments, I also find it hard to worry about how painless the execution will be.

Im with you on this. I do have morality issues regarding the death penalty but then you have a guy who cold bloodedly shot a lady twice in the back of the head, while committing a robbery. I can completely understand the son's desire to see justice served after 30 years. |
